Caroline J. Dale ditched a degree in classical flute performance when she was 19 in favour of teaching herself to write songs on a $5 guitar her uncle found at a garage sale.
Despite a history of performance she flatly refused to sing in front of anyone else until she travelled to South America and was forced by a delightful hippie woman to perform at an asado in the Argentinian Lake District.
Having dispensed with her performance hangups, Caroline now delivers Cohen-esque lyricism with the effusiveness and large hair of Dolly Parton.
