Carol performs throughout the world delivering a song with the power of a top 40 vocalist and the integrity of a folk singer...

"Carol Jane is a true class act. Her genre of music is a superb style of country with a little flavor of rock and roll. Her lyrical songs speak from the heart and tell a story of her personal struggles, loves, and losses. She combines a flow of presence and rhythm and it is easy to get lost in her emotions. Carol is filled with talent and is on her way to becoming a star." -- Jodie Brooke Goldberg

Lyrics

The Other Side of Wrong

Written By: Carol Jane Buttenham

STOOD IN YOUR SHOES BEFORE
STARING WITH DISBELIEF AT HIS CONFESSION
TEARS WELL UP INSIDE
THE ONLY THING LEFT IS YOUR PRIDE
SO I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL
AND I'M SORRY FOR TAKING PART IN YOUR BROKEN HEART
THIS TIME I'M THE ONE
STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF WRONG

AND I HATE MYSELF
FOR LOVING SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T BELONG TO ME
YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT
TO STAND BY HIS SIDE
AND I'LL JUST WALK AWAY
AND FORGET ABOUT ALL THOSE TIMES I THOUGHT HE WAS MINE
I CAN’T CHANGE WHAT I'VE DONE
SO I’M STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF WRONG

I WOULD UNDERSTAND IF YOU JUST WANT TO TURN AWAY AND NOT HEAR MY STORY
I'M NOT CRYING THE BLUES, I KNOW IT'S NO EXCUSE BUT I WAS LONELY

THE WAY HE LOOKS AT YOU
I CAN SEE WHY YOU'D FORGIVE HIM HIS HURTFUL WAYS
CAUSE I'VE LOOKED IN HIS EYES, AND NOW I REALIZE
YOU’RE THE ONE HE LOVES, I WAS JUST LIVING IN SOME OLD FANTASY
IT'S MY TURN TO BE STRONG, STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF WRONG

IT'S TIME FOR ME TO MOVE ALONG
AND STOP STANDING ON THE OTHER SIDE OF WRONG

Roots and Wings

Written By: Carol Jane Buttenham, Ruth Rosen

I saw her drop a seed and plant a brand new tree
She watched it grow, built a nest and family
Her little birds sang when she taught them how to fly
She helped them leave one by one and soar into the sky

A little push, and a gentle breeze
Someone there to catch them anytime they need
So much love where they come from
That gives them songs to sing
Guess that’s why God made Roots and Wings

When daddy came home back from picking peaches all day
We’d sit together at the table, bow our heads to pray
He taught me how to laugh, love, be thankful and be free
To live my life, dream my dreams, be all that I can be

A little push, and a gentle breeze
Someone there to catch me anytime I need
So much love where I come from
That gives me songs to sing
I guess that’s why God made Roots and Wings

Now I’m sewing my own seeds and maybe one day
I’ll have kids of my own and I hope they’ll say

A little push, and a gentle breeze
Someone there to catch me anytime I need
So much love where I come from
That gives me songs to sing
Guess that’s why God made Roots and Wings
God made roots and wings
