Imagine a collaboration of sounds that in clude folk-rock, with lyrical vocals sung in a clear, straight voice that is reminisent of a blend of Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones...
Then mix in improvisations from a powerfull, soulefull tenor sax, and flute instruments that enhance the impact of the musical story....
Finish off the picture with a top Chicago band that melds into one cohesive new sound that is unique, yet fimiliar....

Bio

Carol Williams is the sax player with actor Gary Sinise, whose classic-rock group Lieutenant Dan Band has performed worldwide since early 2004.
With tours to Asia, Europe, and many cities in the US, they have also played extensively as USO performers at US military bases, at fundraisers for causes such as the Viet Nam Veterans Art Museum,
Gary’s “Operation Iraqi Children”
as well as his Steppenwolf Theater.

Originally from Chicago, Carol Williams grew up in the Midwest, played keyboards, flute, and sang in rock/top-40 bands before moving to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. After traveling with show bands on the East Coast, she spent seven years the US Army band program as a sax player, during which she also played locally in Chicago with original-music jazz/fusion bands.

One of those groups, Kimotion, is the big-band creation of her composer-guitarist husband Kimo Williams, well-known on the music scene in Chicago. Carols’ tenor sax can be heard on two of his CDs, War Stories and Tracking.

With a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
in 1987 to do performances and recordings
she began her direction as a singer-songwriter.
With two albums of solo material (Carol Williams and Small-Town Girl), she has a third pending completion in 2006, recorded with Danny Gottlieb (drummer with Pat Metheny).

Her 5-piece band includes several well-known jazz/rock musicians from Chicago, including Dave Onderdonk on guitar.
