The truth about music for me is that it is like breathing. It is what I have been doing since I was 11 years old when I first picked up a guitar. I have been writing songs since I was about 19 when I realized that it was what I was born to do. Back then it was punk and folk that inspired my writings and now it is everything from hip hop and punk to country, folk and ambient electronic that inspires me. Artists like the Indigo Girls, Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Dave Matthews, Face to Face, The Album Leaf, Peter Gabriel, Patty Griffin, The Roots, Qtip and Premiere have all influenced the way I feel about music today, but the truth is that life itself is my greatest inspiration for writing! What sets me apart from the "herd" is that my music is authentically, emotionally charged. It is the named artists above who have defined what music is to me, which is the manifestation of the indefinable emotions which lie within us all. We all search for connection in this life, and music is what unmistakably always connects the dots!
