Bio

Carotid is well known for the very different sound they produce. The inclusion of many, always played and never programmed, styles and genres of popular music layered with orchestral scoring and manually performed mechanical percussion is their trademark.
Carotid was conceptualized and formed in 2003 out of being disheartened by the lack of determination and creativity found in the many bands and musicians the members had worked with. Albeit very dark, Carotid makes music that a large variety of people can relate to, transitioning fluidly from eerie synth grooves, influenced by industrial rock and hip hop, to all out visceral metal and back again while retaining their unique sound.
In their career, Carotid has shared the stage with many great acts and rocked out on the radio in various formats across the country. Having toured extensively and proven themselves to be a formidable national band, Carotid is leaving their mark on the world.
After a brief stint in 2009 signed to RTS/ X Records/ Malaco Music Group, Carotid is Producing their new album in association with Dumaine Street Enterprises and planning a tour for the upcoming year.
