Bio

In a music industry where some artists never pick up a pen, the members of Carousol collaborate to write passionate, original material. These Lakeland, Florida band members rose quickly through the ranks of local bands in their region with their combination of jazz, modern rock and soul. Led by guitarist and songwriter Woody Detwiler, this award-winning group's unique style is a welcome and refreshing contrast to the typical pop music heard today.

Carousol officially began their journey in November 2005. 3 members of a former band came
together to start a new 3-piece project. Woody Detwiler, Jeff Baker and Mike Cotton
combine their own styles to create music that has no commitment to staying inside the
proverbial box.

"Combining funk, soul, jazz and rock make a pretty cool
combination," says Mike Cotton, keyboardist. "We sometimes stumble
into other styles accidentally while were writing, too. I guess you
could say we're an 'equal opportunity' band."

No strangers to the art, all three performers have an extensive
musical background. Although they like to play their main
instruments, they each have been classically trained in other
instruments.

Carousol makes their home in Central Florida, but is making plans
to travel throughout their state, then the region, then the country
and eventually the world. "We have every intention of taking this
project to the masses," says lead vocalist and guitarist Woody
Detwiler.
