Carpe Noctem

Carpe Noctem is a four-piece rock group from Chappaqua, NY consisting of Ruairi O'Connor on vocals and guitar, Will Messner on guitar, Gabby Messner on bass and Ben Kurlander on drums.  We play mostly rock music with some blues and jazz influences.  Starting from the basement of the Messner house, we have played in local venues all over the Westchester area.

           Currently, we are working on a five track EP tentatively titled “Searching for the Truth”.  The name comes from the title of one of our songs, a staple of our live show.  The EP is a collection of all original music written by the band.  Themes range from love to anxiety to finding strength to fight social struggles.   The EP will be recorded at Headline Studios in Mamaroneck, NY.  All band members are involved in the creative process, creating a sound that is truly a blend of our individual styles and influences.

           Will and Gabby Messner are 2/3 of triplets with their brother Peter.  All three are avid musicians and have been playing for many years.  Ruairi is originally from New York but lived in Ireland for several years as a teenager.  Ben .  As a band we have influences ranging from Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead to BB King and Eric Clapton.  Much of our music is a blend of blues, jazz and classic rock tones.
