Carrie Ann Smallwood

Carrie Ann Smallwood is one of the most unique entertainers in bluegrass music today. Her distinctive voice, flowing black hair, and her incredible talent with with the Scruggs style bluegrass banjo and acoustic guitar all make a stunning presence on stage.
Carrie Ann performs at festivals, fundraisers, churches and talent showcases. She especially enjoys performing at fundraisers because that is where she feels she is helping other people the most. One of her most notable performances of all came last year at a horse ride benefit for St. Jude, in which she was again invited to perform.
Carrie Ann has competed in the ACGMA the past several years and have won several state awards. She has gone on to the NACMAI where she won numerous awards as well, including instrumentalist of the year. One of her most important award was when I was named a young ambassador of the year at the 2010 NACMAI in Pigeon, Forge, TN. The young ambassador is a special award that is given to an individual that uses their musical talents to promote various causes.
Carrie Ann has begun writing her own songs and loves all types of music. Her favorites are bluegrass, traditional country, folk, gospel, jazz, pop, blues, and rock. People are captivated by her powerful and unique voice. She enjoys performing in front of a live audience and strives to be an all around entertainer and musician. She hope to show the audience the many different styles of music that can be played on the banjo, as well as the acoustic guitar. Carrie Ann is very grateful to the people that come to see her perform and like her style of music.
