Lyrics

Not Lovin' You

Written By: Carrie Furman

I aint gonna tell you how to live your life
And i won't try to tell you right from wrong
And I aint even gonna try to make you mine
'Cause I think you should stay where you belong

Chorus
With your big white house and your red truck and your yellow dog
And, ooh, you got it goin' on, babe, you know you do.
So I'll take one step forward and you take one step back
And I'm gonna go right on not lovin' you.

A mississippi woman and a new york lovin' man
Like oil and water, you know they don't mix well.
You think all I can talk about is the taste of your lips
But, honey, a southern girl don't kiss and tell

Chorus
About your big white house and your red truck and your yellow dog
And, ooh, you got it goin' on, babe, you know you do.
So I'll take one step forward and you take one step back
And I'm gonna go right on not lovin you

C'mon, pay attention, 'cause I'm not slowing down
Sorry your simple mind can't keep up
I never promised to be patient, never promised i'd stick around
'Cause, baby, one night don't make it love

Chorus
Not even your big white house and your red truck and your yellow dog
And, ooh, you got it goin' on, babe,
You know you do.
So, I'll take one step forward and you take one step back
And I'm gonna go right on not lovin' you.
I said I'm gonna go right on not lovin' you.
I said I'm gonna go right on not lovin' you.

Miss Oklahoma

Written By: Carrie Furman

Jessie was a broken girl in a not so simple world
She couldn't see the reasons why
She didn't like the little girl she saw in the mirror
Nothing seemed to be right.

She walked around all over town
with her hair in her face and he shoulders down
She'd go to school where no one knew the little girl
who's quiet as a mouse

But deep inside grew a fire burning bright
She said, "I'll be Miss Oklahoma and someday
everything'll be alright"

On the other side of town, the perfect girl in the
perfect house
cried herself to sleep at night; nothing she could
ever do right
would be enough
to win her parents love

Honor roll and beauty queen, they pushed and pushed
her towards their dream
All the right answers, all the right things
to keep her theirs, to clip her wings

But deep inside, she was ready to fly away
She said, "I'll be Miss Oklahoma, and someday
everything'll be okay"

Can you imagine a world where every little girl
Believes just being is enough to win your
unconditional love
Can't we try a little harder to make their lives a
little better
To relieve some of the pressure to be perfect?

Ten years down the road and Jessie has a little girl
of her own
And though she's perfect in her eyes, she tells her
every day
How much she loves her face
When she tucks her in at nigh.

She says, "You're my Miss Oklahoma and everything's
gonna be alright..." She says 'Your'e my Miss
Oklahoma, and everything's gonna be alright"
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright
It's gonna be alright

Diamond Ring

Written By: Carrie Furman

Nothing you could say and nothing you could do
could change the way I feel for you
in my heart.
When it comes to lovin' you I can't imagine what it'd take
to pull us apart

So, I'll never let you go
Though we'll both grow old
Our love will always be

CHORUS
Like that diamond ring
That you gave to me
Strong and beautiful
and unbreakable
I still believe
In eternity
Truth and honesty
So I gave you my heart for a diamond ring

Every minute, every hour, every day in every way
You make me feel safe and warm
in your arms
I can't remember when there was a time that I didn't have to try and run and hide from love

So, I'll never let you go
Though we'll both grow old
Our love will always be

CHORUS
Like that diamond ring
That you gave to me
Strong and beautiful
and unbreakable
I still believe
In eternity
Truth and honesty
So I gave you my heart for a diamond ring

With every breath, with every kiss
Everytime you say you love me i couldn't want more than this.
After all is said and done,
Baby you're the only one
To make me believe in love

CHORUS
With that diamond ring
That you gave to me
Strong and beautiful
and unbreakable
I still believe
In eternity
Truth and honesty
So I gave you my heart for a diamond ring
That you gave to me
Strong and beautiful
and unbreakable
I still believe
In eternity
Truth and honesty
So I gave you my heart for a diamond ring
Yes, I gave you my heart for a diamond ring
Oh, I gave you my heart for a diamond ring
