Simple Day

Written By: Carrie Mills / Elijah Shaw

Simple Day

It’s so funny when I think
You’re having a simple day
Coffee and you’re on your way
Read a book... Go for a ride
Watch the ocean... Hear the tide
You’re having a simple day
Here I sit miles away
My mind’s a mess a ruined day
I turned your kiss
into a Tennessee William's play
That’s why I say that
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day

Observe the thoughts
Observe the time
I spend inside this twisted mind
I look for clues along the way
How did I go astray when
All I want’s a simple day
I rack my brains
What could have been
A thing of beauty thing of sin
But all these thoughts get in the way
There’s really nothing left to say
Left to say, left to say
Left to say left to say
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day
All I want’s a simple day

Read a book go for a ride
Watch the ocean hear the tide
Take my time be on my way
The world goes by it’s all okay
The sun the sand the sea the sky
Blue greeen yellow red
If only I could stop this voice
inside my head....

All I want’s Simple day...

Just a Dream

Written By: Carrie Mills

He woke me in the night came to me crying.
I'm scared I had a nightmare tuck me in.
I walked him back to bed and kissed his forhead.
When he closed his eyes, this is what I said...

Just a Dream
A flight of Imagination
Feels so real like it's right there in your hands
Slips away, gone by morning light
A whisper in the wind...
Just a Dream

I signed the papers in the lawyers office.
The years of fighting ending with a pen.
I put my coat against the brisk cold afternoon.
A home a family all came to an end....
Was...

Just a Dream
A flight of Imagination
Felt so real like it was right there in my hand
Slipped away, gone one morning like
A whisper in the wind...
Just a Dream

For months my mother lay, I watched her going.
I stayed by her side, I held her hand.
I sat there through that long dark last night knowing
One last breath would bring her to the end
Of

Just a Dream
A flight of Imagination
Feels so real like it's right there in our hands
Slips away, gone one morning like
A whisper in the wind...
Just a Dream

Sober

Written By: Carrie Mills/Elijah Shaw

Sober

Inside and out I know
I’v e got to find a way to let go
But my will is still so strong
I’m holding on

Here comes the crazy girl
I go out of control
and crash into your world
want to find what’s left of me
pick up the pieces and see
I need to get

Sober Sober
So I can say hey hey
No sir no sir
Don’t wanna stay this way
I want to get Sober

I thought it was you who needed the cure
It couldn’t be me yeah I was so sure
If only you would change your ways
It’d all be okay

All of this time it really was me
the one who was living in a fantasy
Nothing’s gonna change if I can’t be
Living in reality
I need to be

Sober Sober
So I can say hey hey
No sir no sir
Don’t want to stay this way
I want to get Sober

Take it away
All of this haze
Take it away
That’s what I pray
Out of this place
Let me find grace
Take it away ay ay
For the rest of my life
I want to be

Sober....

Shouts Love

Written By: Carrie Mills

Shouts Love

I couldn’t dream you any better
I would have never got it right
How you appeared in front of me
In the early evening light
You smiled and I responded
How could I have ever known
How one minute can change a lifetime
Now that’s what I’ve been shown

I’d felt lonely and forgotten
I just kept on keeping on
I put the world of love behind me
I let go of that song
Then the mystery it happened
It’s not for me to figure out
I just know my heart’s been woken up
In a quiet way that shouts

Shouts Love
Shouts it’s here
Shouts nows the time
Then whispers nothing left to fear

If you disappeared tomorrow
I would still say I’d been blessed
I would hold on to the gifts you gave
that cannot be replace
For the kindness that you’ve shown me
A virtue not been lost on my
And your thoughtfulness and caring
that flows so effortlessly

Shouts Love
Shouts it’s here
Shouts nows the time
Then whispers nothing left to fear

Shouts Love
Shouts it’s here
Shouts nows the time
Then whispers nothing left to fear

Dance For A Dollar

Written By: Carrie Mills

Dance For a Dollar

Somewhere near the border in a Texan town tonight
A woman puts on her make-up beneath a dusty light.
Her children sleep soundly in the corner of the room.
She dreams as she dresses this poverty will end soon.

She walks out into the street far from her homeland left behind
Why is my life so difficult she asks the wind and she sighs.
She comes to the the doorway where women won't dance for free.
She takes a deep breath of dignity as the first man asks her please...
Will you

Dance for a Dollar
Mujer bonita por favor?
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
No deseo nada mas.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
Tonight we can forget.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?

She turns her head to avoid this sweaty strangers smell.
He holds her much to tightly as if he knew her well.
She thinks about her husband who disappeared so long ago.
While the man thinks of his family back home in Mexico.
Will you...

Dance for a Dollar
Mujer bonita por favor?
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
No deseo nada mas.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
Tonight we can forget.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?

The night seems to last forever until the sun begins to rise.
She yawns as she walks home and she rubs her sleepy eyes.
The music still rings in her ears as she steps inside her room.
She dreams as she undresses this poverty will end soon...
Will end soon...
Will you...

Dance for a Dollar
Pretty woman please?
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
I wish for nothing more
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
Tonight we can forget.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?

Dance for a Dollar
Mujer bonita por favor?
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
No deseo nada mas.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
Tonight we can forget.
Will you Dance for a Dollar?
