Carrion Sun

Carrion Sun is brutal thrash metal over-layed with a haunting melody. It is the rose and the thorn bushes. It is the balance. Life is sometimes just hard, aggressive and intense. But sometimes it can be so delicate and serene it takes your breath away. That contrast seems to be a determining factor in our music and how we write. We write our emotions. We want you to feel what we feel to establish that we're not strangers. Our hearts don't have to seem alien to us anymore. We want to reach people on that level and then tell them, you are not alone. It doesn't have to be this way. This isn't what's important. We want you frustrated with having to accept a world you don't want. This is all there is. This is for you and you only. If it takes the unrelenting pounding and smashing of drummer Steve Smith to break down your barriers, he's going to hit those drums as hard as he can. If it takes the buzz-saw like shredding of guitarist Matt Ballard to cut down your walls, he is going to shred hard enough to produce heat. If it takes the body-trembling rumblings from a bass guitar to shake you up and make you pay attention, Tyler Chapman is going to slap it like it's goign out of style. If it takes an artful seduction to force your awareness, Judson Duncan will play the melodies that hit you where it hurts. Sometimes it's just a good shaking of the shoulders and screaming in your face. Matt Hughes will do that for you. Because this is important. This is our world. We are Carrion Sun. We put our all into this and wait to see what comes out.
