Biography

In the summer of 2008, Chris Winfield and Dan Hesketh met two beautiful Norwegian girls in Brazil who happily tricked them into going back to Oslo. There they got together with drummer and producer Fredrik Baden and formed Casa Murilo, now a powerful six piece with the addition of Rudi Johansen on lead guitar, Håkon "The Cucumber" Møller on keys and Sturla Hinze on bass.

Since their debut in May 2009, Casa Murilo´s raucous, infectious live show has had audiences and dancefloors rocking at Øya Festival, Feriefestivalen, By:Larm, Parkteatret and John Dee. Inspired by their experiences in Brazil and Oslo, Casa Murilo offer a personal and energetic style of charming indie rock that demands attention and participation from audiences large and small.

In Autumn 2009, they self-released their 5 track debut EP ”The Waldemar Thranes Debacle” which received radio play in Norway and high praise from Scandinavian music blogs including eardrumsmusic.com and allscandinavian.com.

They formed a side project with the beautiful Kari Kamrud Jahnsen from the band Like Spinning in February 2010 called Suspicious For The Winter. Their first collaboration "Empty Streets" was released on the Eardrums Pop label as part of the compilation "Between Two Waves". The track was singled out in in many reviews.

Casa Murilo are now releasing their debut album witch was recorded at the Oslo based indie label Spoon Train´s studio Six Feet Over. The man at the helm was Sjur Lyseid, frontman for Monzano and The Little Hands of Asphalt and producer of many artists, not least amongst which Oslo´s mighty Nomber 5s.
