Cascabulho created its own identity, a harmoniously fusion of countryside elements, urban life, pop culture, jazz, roots sound of pífanos, and maracatu drums. The band music is strong as its name.
During this years Cascabulho accumulates an amazing CV: Festival Abril Pro Rock, in 1997; Free Jazz Festival, in 1997; Summer Stage Festival, Central Park, Nova York, EUA; Prêmio Sharp, in 1998 and 1999, won in two categories: Best Regional Group and Best Regional Music, with the track "Quando Sonhei que era Santo", from the album Fome dá dor de Cabeça; Montreal Jazz Festival, in Montreal; WOMEX, in 1999, Berlim, Alemanha; Indicated to Latin Grammy, in 2004, with the album É Caco de Vidro Puro, best CD of Brazilian roots music.
