"Casey Frazier"

Overview: Casey Frazier started playing music at the age of three, writing at the age of ten, and had already lived in Nashville, recorded two demos, and written with some of Nashville's top writers by 16. His clever, metaphorical lyrics, and superbly written guitar and piano tracks make him seem much older than his 18 years."I am intrigued by songwriting", Casey says, "Some people write stories or paint pictures as a way of expressing emotion. The important thing is, that they are trying to bring something to life. Otherwise, we've all suffered for no reason." Casey moved to California from Colorado in the summer of 2007 after recording "After Autumn", to immerse himself in his own songwriting, and produced and write for other artists in the Monterey area. He is currently living in Seattle, WA.

Along his youthful journey, Casey has picked up a hefty list of accomplishments. He is one of the youngest artists to get a publishing deal in Nashville's Music Row with Song Garden Publishing and already had multiple song holds from Tim Mcgraw, Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts. He performed at the 2006 Durango Songwriter's Expo and made multiple appearances on channel-9's Colorado & Company Morning Show. Casey opened up for Kenny Rogers on his 2006 "Holiday Tour" and headlined a show at Monterey Live with Mandy Moore in '07.

In over a decade of performing his music around the country, Kevin So has earned the respect of fellow musicians (Keb' Mo', Amos Lee), won over members of press and radio, and has built a loyal fan base across the US.His highly anticipated solo acoustic release Best Foot Forward is supported by concert dates this year.

Back by popular demand for the second year in a row, singer-songwriter Casey Frazier performed at "Tunes at Noon" Wednesday, Oct. 14 in Banks Dining Hall.

Frazier, born and raised in Denver, Colorado, began playing guitar at the young age of 5. At 16 Frazier became one of the youngest performers to sign a record deal in Nashville, Tennessee, and his musical career has flourished since. This past summer, Frazier worked on a few songs in his studio for the release of "Old Cuban and The Lineup" as the follow-up to his 2006 debut album, "After Autumn."

He considers music as folk rock. "I would [also] say [my music is] classic rock, but it's not exactly classic yet," he said. Artists such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Elton John inspire Frazier. Some of his favorite artists range from Ryan Adams to Josh Rouse, Jackson Browne and the Dave Matthews Band.

Aside from the growing fame that this young musician achieved early in life, Casey also opened a show for Kenny Rogers on his 2006 Holiday Tour and nearly a year later headlined a show in California with Mandy Moore. Although a moment like this would be deemed as unforgettable to the average teen, Frazier stated that his most unforgettable moment so far in his career was a bit more modest. "I did a show in Phoenix with a couple of my friends and I didn't expect anyone to show up but the place was packed and nothing went wrong throughout the performance," he said.

Head west and, tucked away off Charlotte Avenue, is a dive bar known as Betty’s Grill. Lately, Betty’s has been hosting live music… something most west-siders would normally have to drive into downtown for. But those in the mood for a smoky bar, a greasy cheeseburger, and some local indie music can find it at Betty’s this Friday night.

The lineup includes Zach Broocke, Shane Tutmarc, Melissa Mathes, and Casey Frazier.

Casey Frazier grew up in Colorado, and started playing drums at the ripe old age of 3. By 5, he had moved on to the guitar, and eventually started writing his own material. When Frazier initially moved to Nashville, he got a publishing deal and was writing country songs. In 2006, he even toured with Kenny Rogers. That year, he also put out his first album, called After Autumn.

Since then, Frazier has moved back and forth, but usually finds himself back in Nashville to record. He’s working on another album, but he spends more of his time writing the songs, and feels that each one should be a complete work. "I never want my records to be two radio hits and a bunch of throwaway songs.”

You can check out the country-tinged Casey Frazier, along with 3 other Nashville acts, at Betty’s this Friday. (407 49th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37209). The cover’s only $3, so you’ll have plenty of cash left for bar food and drinks!

Bio

Casey Frazier is one of his generation’s timeless singer/songwriters. To put it simply, one must go far and wide to find a musician not only as talented but also as gracious and humble as Casey. His beginnings date back to his early childhood.

At the ripe old age of three years old you could find Casey honing his skills on his first set of drums. He did not stop there, before Casey even began attending school he was a multi-instrument entertainer, by acquiring the talents of guitar playing.
This early jump on learning and playing music gave him the propensity to continue his dreams as a young adult and bloom into one of the strongest and most exciting young songwriters in the US.

His songwriting skills and artful process of combining well written lyrics with tried and true musical composition has brought attention from some of today’s most notable artists. He has had multiple song holds from iconic artists such as Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Rascal Flatts.

His accolades continue as he has performed concerts with Kenny Rogers and headlined a show with Mandy Moore in 2007. In August of 2009, the major motion picture, “Teenage Dritbag” featured the fan favorite “Elysian Fields” from his album “After Autumn“. Casey is also one of the youngest artists to receive a publishing deal in Nashville’s music row with Song Garden Publishing.

Casey has released 2 full length albums and an unplugged ‘Live” album. In all three of these albums it is not hard to see why so many music industry professionals and fans across the world are talking about his music.

Anyone who is around Casey for any period will find a drive and compassion for his music that very few in the his industry have… just ask the guy what motivates him to write his music and you may be surprised that he writes it for anyone who loves music!
“I write songs for people who love music, for people who love to just listen. I never want my records to be two radio hits and a bunch of throw away songs. Each one, to me, is its own complete work.”

In fact it is not uncommon to see this naturally talented artist literally shun and/or throw away songs that many other artists would considered hits….if the song does not truly resonate within Casey you will likely not find the song on any album or in any concert.

“I’m really focused on coming up with a story in my songs. It definitely spins more from what I’ve been through in my life, approaching experiences, and things I want to do! Well this isn’t all true….I am a bit of a fiction freak!”

Whether it is his imagination or life experiences that create the path into his heart, mind, and soul, you can be sure that when you listen to one of Casey’s shows or albums you will be walking away with a piece of artistic expression that will easily stand the test of time….music that is as timeless and priceless as the musicians who inspired him!
