Barbershopper meets Beatle – that’s how it started back in 2004 when Paul (Cash) and Carrie met at The Fest for Beatle Fans in Chicago. Carrie and her Barbershop friends assembled the Apple Scruffs band to compete in the Battle of the Bands and performed The Mamas and The Papas’ version of I Call Your Name, harmonizing their way into Paul’s heart.
Since their meeting, the two have
performed with their two sons and good friends in The Mugwumps and Family
Affair bands at venues such as the Taste of Chicago, Abbey Road on the River in
Louisville, KY, and Maifest and Christkindl festivals in Chicago’s Lincoln
Square.
Paul is a classically trained
musician and plays guitar, piano and drums. He’s played in several Beatle
tribute bands including The Apple, Cavern Beat, and Beat ’65, and was a member
of Chicago’s popular cover band The Capitals for several years. Carrie spent 15
years honing her harmonies by performing with the Sweet Adelines, and in
addition to singing plays guitar, keyboard and percussion.
