Bio

Black Lotus emerged from an impromtu jam session between singer/songwriter Cash Casia Leo and Monte Pittman (guitarist for Madonna and bassist to Prong). Cash then recruited drummer Andy, bass player Kass and guitarist Alexy to complete the band. The group formed an immediate bond of shared art & friendship.

About guitartist/bassist/songwriter Monte Pittman: Monte is the Bass player for Prong and guitarist for Madonna, Seal and many other world renowned artists. Monte is at work on a solo project, new band The Citizen Vein(with Adam Lambert now on American Idol), and works with various other artists in colaberation with Wilshire Artists. Monte will resume tour with Madonna later in 2009. For more info please see http://www.myspace.com/montepittman http://www.myspace.com/montsterpittman OR http://www.myspace.com/prong

about singer/songwriter Cash Casia Leo: With a family tree tying her to rock legend Alice Cooper, its no surprise that Cash has the uncanny abilities to throw a vocal temper tantrum one minute, then without warning metamorphosis a sultry whisper to a wail (or growl). At first glance, the solid, soulful voice that pours out of her would be unexpected. On stage, her cover model looks are trumped only by her enormous talent, energy and very healthy appetite for raw hard rock. She's got a mouth like Steven Tyler and moves like the proverbial love child of Tina Turner and Robert Plant, but make no mistake: she has an identity unto herself alone. Cash has been fortunate to work with several world renowned musicians such as Donny Vosburgh (Iron Butterfly, Blues Image, Cactus), Vivian Campbell (Dio, Def Leppard, Whitesnake), and more recently Grammy award winning producer Malcolm Welsford (Shihad, Neil Finn, The D4, Supergroove, The Feelers, Bic Runga) and Monte Pittman (Madonna, Seal, Prong, Citizen Vein). According to the critics: Page Six of The New York Post compared her voice to “ - a moody Pat Benetar”. Tear Magazine boasted Cash as “- one of the 50 most beautiful people" and Gear Magazine has named the name Cash Casia as one of the "Hottest People to look out for”. About drummer Andrew Niven: Originally from the SF bay area, Andrew studied percussion at Humboldt State in Arcada CA, and then later graduated from CalArts. Andrew has played with progressive hard rock trio "VOGUT" and several groups based around a colaberation with keyboardist Lenny "Nipsy" Pettinelli. Andrew has had the privilege of playing in ensembles with Alphonso Johnson (Wayne Shorter), and Miroslav Tadic (world renounced Serbian Guitarist).

About guitarist Alexy Shant Yeghikian: Born in Hollywood CA, Alexy has studied with many jazz legends such as Larry Koonse. His other credentials include opening for Andrew W.K., collaborative works with R&B artist Bobby Brown, and consecutive world tours with Black Cats. Alexy has also played guitar for heavy metal band A.L.O.C. for several years.

About bassist Kass Saboktakin: Kass is celebrated as one of the most accomplished bass players and teachers in his home country of Iran for almost 20 years. His career began when he joined Kaveh Yaghmaee's band in less than a year after picking up an axe for the first time, and continued to play a number of successful shows with him. Meanwhile, Kass formed the band " Barad." Barad's debut album gained popularity so quickly that it was selected as one of the top 10 albums of the year, and was featured in "A rough guide to the music of Iran" series published in the UK. Shortly after, Kass joined famous underground rock band "O-HUM." The band was so successful that a documentary was filmed about the band and screened in major international film festivals, followed by a successful world tour in Germany,Netherlands and Austria. Kass has worked with a number of other bands including Part, Sauron, Pejvak, Darkoob, Baya, Hack, Poetic diZeaZe, and Sara Naini's Quartet. He also played on a tour with Tehran's symphonic orchestra. In 2008, Kass moved to Hollywood, CA to continue his musical achievements in even larger perspectives. For more info please visit http://www.myspace.com/kassthebass
