Desde Santiago recibimos a Cashflow, cuatro jóvenes músicos con una propuesta diferente e innovadora que promete calar en el gusto de todo el ambiente rockero dominicano. Con un nuevo estilo bajo la manga y unas enormes ganas de triunfo, el futuro se muestra prometedor para esta banda que llegó con todas las intenciones de quedarse.

Ignaura: ¿Quienes integran Cashflow?
Cashflow: La banda esta integrada por Eddy B. como voz principal, Clovis en el Bajo, Domingo en la Guitarra y Marlon en la Batería.
I: Cuanto tiempo tiene la banda formada?
C: Tenemos 4 años. Estamos tocando juntos desde principios del 2001.

I: ¿De donde proceden sus principales influencias?
C: Nuestras principales influencias provienen de los nuevos movimientos, de las fusiones innovadoras, como por ejemplo, Metal con Drum-N-Bass, Metal con Ritmos Latinos. El Mestizzage en general, que se basa en la unión de varios elementos de todo el mundo en una sola línea general
I: ¿Cual es su estilo y como definirían su música?
C: Es una fusión que tiene metal, Drum-n-Bass, Hip Hop, Electrónica, percusión. Tiene también elementos más típicos, como la tambora. Hemos definido el concepto como Latin Metal Mestizzage.
I: ¿Ustedes consideran que están creando un totalmente nuevo estilo musical?
C: Claro, y no solo un estilo nuevo de música, también un estilo nuevo de Mosh!

I: Eso me lo van a tener que explicar…
C: O sea, ya no es tanto cabecear, ni dar golpes, es darle un giro más o menos de ritual a lo que es el Mosh, basado principalmente en los ritos que hacían las tribus indígenas, pero de una manera más evolucionada. Es algo a lo que te lleva la música; la percusión, los tambores transmiten esa energía al público.
I: ¿Como ha sido la respuesta de la gente ante este estilo tan innovador que ustedes están presentando?
C: La gente responde muy bien, precisamente porque es un estilo nuevo y diferente. La gente de verdad recibe la buena vibra de la percusión y todo eso. Gracias a Dios la respuesta siempre ha sido muy positiva y esperamos que lo siga siendo.

I: Después de cuatro años tocando, ¿ya están en los preparativos de lo que será la primera producción de Cashflow?
C: Efectivamente, tenemos casi tres meses trabajando. Ya las canciones están grabadas. Estamos en proceso de masterizacion y todo eso, si Dios quiere en unas pocas semanas tendremos el producto final. Estamos grabando en The Torture Room, el studio de Aldo Germán. El CD tiene un total de 10 canciones, ocho en inglés, una en español y una en “Spanglish”, Inglés y Español. Las canciones están trabajadas con mucha percusión. Se utilizaron los instrumentes comunes con los que se hace percusión, pero también otros más típicos, como es el caso del Djembé, un tambor africano.
I: ¿Por qué en Inglés?
C: Principalmente, por la influencia que tenemos. Por otro lado, para nosotros resulta mas expresar lo que queremos en inglés que en español, además en inglás es más fácil llegar al mundo entero.

I: ¿Qué esperan ustedes de esa primera producción de Cashflow?
C: En primer lugar, pretendemos lanzar un producto tan profesional como sea posible, como cualquiera de las mejores bandas de aquí, además, te aseguramos que el CD va a revolucionar lo que es el sistema Metal dominicano.
O: ¿Revolucionar? ¿Por qué? ¿En qué sentido?
C: En el aspecto musical, en los elementos que se utilizan, que son innovadores no solo aquí en el país, sino también en América Latina. Va a revolucionar porque es diferente a todo lo que se ha hecho hasta ahora en el país. Tenemos planes de proyección internacional. Ya nuestro baterista se fue para Boston, EE UU a trabajar y hacer contactos. Ya en los próximos meses nos vamos nosotros. Ya tenemos proyectos de una que otra presentación en Boston y hay una entrevista por confirma en Urban Latino en Nueva York.

I: ¿Por que primero no se asientan aquí con esto del lanzamiento del CD y todo eso, y luego piensan en internacionalización?
C: Nosotros hemos tocado prácticamente en todo el país. Quizás no tanto en la capital, pero por ejemplo, en la región del Cibao, Santiago, Cabarete, hemos tenido muchas presentaciones, en el Cibao la gente conoce a Cashflow. Nunca nos habíamos enfocado en al Capital, ahora, a partir de este CD nos centraremos tanto en Santo Domingo como en la proyección internacional.
I: ¿Cuáles son las ventajas que les ofrece el irse a trabajar a Estados Unidos?
C: Primero, Estados Unidos es como un trampolín, te da la posibilidad de abrirte a todas partes del mundo, además de que en Estados Unidos la percepción hacia el Metal y ese tipo de música es diferente. Nosotros hacemos música para gente de mente abierta. Aquí en República Dominicana hemos encontrado mucho apoyo, porque el Metal ha crecido y evolucionado bastante, y la gente también ha crecido y evolucionado junto con la música, pero en Estados Unidos las cosas son diferentes.

From Santiago(DR), CASHFLOW, Four young musicians with a new and different style that is digging the Dominican Rock Scene. With this new style, the future is showing a lot of successful for this band, who came with all the intentions to stay.

Ignaura: Who is Cashflow?
Cashflow: Front Man Eddy B. on the Vocalizations, Clovis on the Bass, Domingo on the Guitar and Marlon on the Drums.
I: How old is the band?
C: We have four years. We’ve been together since the year 2001.
I: \Where your influences are coming from?
C: Our main influences are coming from the new musical movements, from the new fusions, for example, Metal with Drum-N-Bass , Metal with Latin Rythims, etc… The MESTIZZAGE, which is the union of a lot of different elements from the world in one general line.
I: what your style, and can you guys give me a definition of your music?
C: Is a Fusion of Metal, Drum-N-Bass, Hip Hop, Electronic, Percussion. Have folkloric elements too like the Tambora. We have defined it like Latin Metal Mestizzage.
I: So, are you guys creating a new musical style?
C: Of course, and is not only a new musical style, is a new Mosh style as well ..

I: Can you explain that to me?
C: I mean, is not only jump all around the floor, is like a ritual mosh, like the “Tribus indigenas” (dominican Indians), but in a evolutional way. That is transmitted by the music itself; the percusion, the drums; that give that energy to the people…
I: How has been the answer of the public to the innovating style that u guys r doing?
C: People are digging the style and in every show we do we feel an rich feedback from everyone saying big ups and congratulations after the show, people get the good vibes from the percussion and get everyone caught right when we play the first note.
I: After your years of playing you are preparing what is going to be your first full length album?
C: Yes we are, we have been recording for 3 months and all the songs are almost complete we going to do the mastering soon so the final product is going to be ready in a while. We are recording in the torture room, Aldo s German studio room. The album will have ten songs, eight tracks in English and two in “spanglish” Spanish and English. The songs are well based on percussion; we used common percussion instruments as well as other not that common like tambu, bata, palos, campanas.
I: Why in English?
C: First of all because of our music influence, and for us is easier to express what we want in English than Spanish, besides, English is the word language right now…
I: What you guys expecting from your first Cashflow`s album?
First of all, we are trying to be as professional as we can, like any other of the best bands from here, besides, we can assure you that this album is going to be a revolution in what is the Dominican metal system.
I: Revolution?, Why?., What in what sense?
C: In the musical aspect ,there’s been a innovation in the elements that we used, not only here in this country, in the whole Latin America. Is going to be a revolution because is different of whatever has been done in this country till now. We are planning international projection, our drummer is already in Boston, Mass and he is working in a couple of contacts, and we’re going to be there in the next couple of months. We hopefully going to have a couple of presentation in the Boston’s area, and there’s a interview on cue with Urban Latino in New York.
I: Why don t you first work with the CD here and then think about going outside the country?
C: We’ve been playing along the whole country, well ,actually not that much in the capital, but we been having several presentation in the cibao area, Santiago, Cabarete, etc…. People really know Cashflow in the cibao area, we haven’t focus that much in the capital crowd , now with this new album we are going to be focused on the capital and the international projection as well.
I: What`s the advantage of going to the United states?
C: First of all, the United States is like a trampoline that give you opportunities to open to the whole word, besides ,the perception over the metal music is different over there .We make music for open mind’s people, here in DR we have found a lot of support because the metal music has growth a lot, and people has growth together with music, but anyway in United States things are different.
I: Anything else you want to say?
C: Don’t forget to buy the album, you won’t regret !!

With a sound that challenges to all musical categories driven by the exciting commitment of four friends to elevate and to redefine the existing musical patterns within a context delineated by the innate existence of Caribbean essentia CASHFLOW maintains its listeners and spectators in the edge of its minds within a true cerebral experimentation in which they have gained the reputation to be alchemist musicians who fuse from the metal grind-hardcore passing through urban styles as hip-hop and the Latin jazz shaping an electronic touch derived from hard drum-n- bass,jungle, giving to all this stable mixture of afro-Caribbean rates expressed in drums that shout merengue, panbiche, son, ga-ga and woods. Originating thus a new complex and addictive musical form defined like LMM (Latin Metal Mestizage) giving thus fitted to native musical movements of all Caribbean announcing Latin and making passages that can remember to us the sublimates of the defined musical wealth in the Latin. Marlon Cruz (drum and percussions) and Domingo Reinoso (guitars), that weighed on the santiaguera musical scene unite forces with Clovis Montas (bass), native of Santo Domingo and completing the quartet with Eddy B (voices), guru of hip-hop underground movement of Santiago, begin his trip at the beginning of 2000 year, which next to legendary percusionist of the stature of Cuquin Curiel and Felle vega they begin to give form to the project in his musical laboratory, doing jamming sessions and looking for the sound wich until now has attracted to great amount of followers defined as the NEW CULTURE OF the RACE, these follow all his presentations carried out in important rock market places of the country.
In 2001 and 2002 the band participates openly in different musical activities and , leaving its indelible mark in the scenarios which have assaulted with intensity and force, driving vibrations that cause that their followers have adopted a new one and ecletical form to move making of mosh-pit a celebration that the birth of the new race professes, this combined with trips to the outside in search of contacts and followers has maintained to the band in deep work and expectations that assembled the years to come.
In the 2003 the band participates actively in organizing and direction of the memorable concert Rock Union, idea proposed by its members in order to unify and to revitalize the santiaguera scene of rock that suffered at those moments a lethargy, that same year participates in several shows with outstanding bands of Santo Domingo and Santiago and that with their auditory assault obtains the respect and the support of many. In 2004 with his first disc in air CASHFLOW already opens a dimension never seen before , giving it the name of ESSENTIAL the disc is a trip by 10 philosopher and original subjects that wake up the critic to even the most opened mind. ESSENTIAL can be seen like a treaty about the defined human existence in the music and as the small things are the essential and principle of the complex univers we live in. Subjects like ´´Cycle of the Hoocker´´, ´´One to the six away from reality´´ and ´´It s not worthy´´ reflect the heavy side of the band with a electronic mix that increases the power of its notes, the Latin Navy represented by famous track ´´Wake up (pale dekule)´´, recorded previously in demo, reflecting a renovation of more power and style, ´´Caribeean flow´´ and ´´Taino´´ are pieces that represent the true feeling of Creole with lyrics that evoke the high feeling of identity, without leaving to a side the epicos subjects of ´´Koan s Circle´´ and ´´Operation Shut Down´´ these do a flash back to the psicologics paradigms of the humanity. the first single of ESSENTIAL takes form in the song ´´Breed is One´´ being this an piece that develops between guitars of high rank and cinematic shouts conjugated with tambora and Latin soul. In the summer of the 2004 Its members they are crossing the United States exhausting a series of presentations to show its first disc and to lay way to expand the filosophy of the new breed.
