CASSIOPIA

CASSIOPIA was formed in 1998 by four high school friends from Kansas that had a vision to bring something different to the crippling music scene of the Midwest. Everyone came from different backgrounds which allowed for many varied tastes and opinions on what music should be. What was in 1998 is no more due to line-up changes and people following their respective paths. However, the bands vision for a progressive sound and the desire to play for people never changed. In recent years the band has become a high energy power rock trio that is on a never ending mission to gain new fans and give them something they have never seen before.

The band consists of three guys who work hard, live and love to create and grow through music. They live for sharing this experience with other people through live shows that always deliver. CASSIOPIA is a well rounded, tastefully progressive hard rock trio influenced by bands such as Tool, Black Sabbath, Acid Bath, Nirvana, and many more. Whoever sees a show always remarks how CASSIOPIA reminds them of their favorite band in some way. The sound that they produce affects anyone that experiences it, and it is an experience that that they are guaranteed to never forget.

After a three year hiatus from 2002-2005, they have begun playing shows again, boasting a commanding stage presence and well crafted songs touching on everything from spirituality to the continually downgrading world that surrounds us all. Since their return in 2005 they have played over 70 shows in a 1 year time span. They connect with audiences and earn new fans every time they perform. After selling out all 500 copies of their debut EP, 5000 copies of their debut full length, Apex Predator, radio and internet airplay locally and abroad. Their second album is has just benn released as of March 17, 2007. Under the title Universal Scream, this record showcases an aural assault bottled up by three years of virtually no activity, save for a couple recording sessions. Anticipation for this album has been mounting for about 5 years now and it has already proved to be an amazing follow up to their first release in 2001.

They are now looking to step up and branch out, beginning with touring the Midwest. They are already a known group that always draws a crowd in 11 cities in MO, KS, NE, and AR . CASSIOPIA consistently delivers whether it is on stage or in the studio, and they will continue to do so wherever the journey takes them next.
