Since forming in 2010, the duo, comprised of Tataryn and guitarist Matt Folkersen, have become known for gritty-yet-melodic songs paired with an energetic live show. Castle River. Once described as Simon & Garfunkel meets DFA1979, the duo of Matt Castle and Billy Rivers trade off vocal duties, blending brotherly harmonies with syncopated rhythms. On the strength of their debut EP the band have been already been invited to perform at notable festivals and showcases including CMJ, Sled Island, and Break Out West. They were also profiled on CBC's On A Cold Road.
