Under the name 'Cat and a Bird,' a Uzbekistan guitarist/producer performs with a French/American singer and violinist. Cat and a Bird is the brain child of Mr. V, who came to his Washington DC studio from overseas, picking up musical tidbits from around the world along the way and perfecting his sound over ten years. Musical discoveries are carried from project to project, as evidenced by the latest children's CD- a mix of Russian folk, American rock and gypsy violin. With bouncy beats, silly instruments and animal themes, the CD is intended primarily for young children. But Cat and a Bird was careful to make a sound that could be appreciated by adults and older kids as well, and has received equal attention from these groups.
