Bio

On March 3, 1978, David Morch, aka C.a.t.a.s.h., was born in Portsmouth, Virginia. Although he was a product of a rape, he has come to the conclusion that God had a purpose in mind for him before the foundation of the world, and his birth into this earthly realm was no mistake. He grew up without his earthly father, (though he knew him), but His heavenly Father was watching over him even before He knew God. Catash was raised by his mother and grandparents in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. They taught him about the Word of God, and insisted that He attend services at Ebenezer Baptist Church in his hometown. Although he resisted, he admits that early church attendance played a major part in shaping his character, and helped to guide him in the right direction on His path toward fulfilling his purpose in Christ.
David began rapping at the age of twelve with his best friend, Jay Smith aka 8th Wonda, Cleph Knotes, and Rhowdy Yhates (R.I.P.) doing “Say No to Drugs” raps. Later, at age 17 he strayed from his Christian roots and started to do gangster rap, but the raps included lyrics with hidden Christian messages that indicated the seed of his Christian upbringing which had been planted by his mother and grandparents was still present.
In 1998, after joining the Army, Catash relocated to
Dallas, Texas where he experienced the negative side of life that he
was sheltered from as a child. Within a year he spiraled downward after he married, divorced, and became homeless, among other issues, and he began to question God’s existence in his heart. But as he prayed and sought God, the Lord revealed Himself in a mighty way in the form of signs, miracles, dreams, prophecies, and other ways too numerous to mention. Through it all, the Lord made David’s assignment clear to him and helped him to determine God’s ultimate purpose for his life: to use his gift as a rapper to uplift his fellow man and expand the Kingdom of God.
In 1999, Catash decided to rap for Jesus, even though he never heard of anyone doing such a thing. He would go on to perform in several venues across the U.S. spreading the Gospel through rap and sharing his life experiences. In 2003 Catash completed 4 years in the Army and returned to Virginia where he reunited with his best friend
8th Wonda, and the pair teamed up with a new best friend, J Rambo, to form the Christian rap group, Armaggedon.
The rap artist is now a father of 6, a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a music producer, and an aspiring actor. By the grace of God, his talents have been featured on many television and radio shows internationally, nationally, and in the local Virginia area. His talents have been acknowledged by Lauryn Hill, Kirk Franklin, Corey Redd, and Richie Righteous (to name a few). However, he prizes the acknowledgement of God his Father who deposited the treasure of his talent within and has counted him worthy to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses. Catash takes His assignment seriously as he ultimately attempts to fulfill the call of God upon his life, and his chief goal is to win souls for the Kingdom of God.
