"CREATIVE SPOTLIGHTS INTERVIEW AND REVIEW"

"There’s a certain amount of fortitude that can be awarded to any band that can go from a sulky acoustic duo channeling the most brooding attributes of Sheryl Crow to a four piece pop/rock monster delving into the more cacophonous inspirations of The Rolling Stones, Boston, and Heart........For Catch Wild, their astonishing stage presence, fantastic blend of popular melodies and the disheveled growl of a guitar, and distinguished songwriting and musical ability driven by the welcomed rarity of a female guitarist and proficient vocalist is bound to draw in a crowd."

"CULTURE BRATS INTERVIEW"

"With that said, the crew at Big Blue Meanie Studios are some of the coolest people on the planet and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. They all mirrored our intense work ethic and we couldn't have done it without them or our generous Kickstarter backers!" - Culture Brats

"NYC SOCIAL STATUS POSTING"

"“Star,” the first single from Waking Up With Fire, is a high voltage debut aimed at crooked record executives and Rose’s experience with them. Though the lyrics suggest, “I was gonna be a star,” it seems obvious from the music quality and reactions of the audience that the more accurate lyrics would be, “I AM gonna be a star.” This and the additional songs on Catch Wild’s first album explore themes of building a life, struggling for success, searching for love and fighting to hold on to that love. In “Hurricane,” Rose declares, “I can be your superhero.” For many fans, that statement is already true. Girls want to be her and guys want to be with her. She is strong, independent, beautiful, and badass. And so is her band."

"RELATEMAG.COM ALBUM REVIEW"

"Catch Wild began as an acoustic duo between Jessica Rose and Doug Atkins, and while they have evolved into a high energy, rock driven band, songwriting remains at their core. Because that fundamental is forgotten or glossed over by other bands, that foundation is what sets Catch Wild apart. So, while their passion for music may be what has them on fire, there is little chance they will burn out any time soon." - RelateMag.com

"JERSEY BEAT INTERVIEW with JESSICA ROSE"

At the end of the day, the way that the industry is structured is that in order to get that global reach, you need the machine, so in that respect, the big companies will always be around. Until you reach that gate where you need to cross the bridge and go down the road, you do what you can on the DIY front, making music that you believe in and hoping for the best. We didn’t go into this project saying “We have to get a major record deal.” Would we like to have a career playing music for the rest of our lives as a full-time job? Of course, but do we actually have that? Not yet, but I don’t think that going into the music industry writing for the big machine is the way to go – I think that’s where everybody started going wrong. When I turn on Z100, I don’t hear The Allman Brothers or The Beatles or any of those bands that we all look up to, and I wish I did. - Jersey Beat

"THE AQUARIAN ALBUM REVIEW"

Catch Wild’s Waking Up With Fire is a diamond in the rough.... ‘Under The Gun’ is a swanky, acoustic ballad that shows off the softer and emotive side of Rose’s voice. - The Aquarian Weekly

Bio

What’s in a name? For Catch Wild, it is their entire identity. It perfectly sums up their sound: catchy enough to break through to modern
mainstream radio but wild enough to set them apart as unique. It also
represents the evolution of the band. Beginning in 2009 as an acoustic duo, Jessica Rose (lead vocals and guitar) and Doug Atkins (lead guitar and backing vocals) began writing and performing under Jessica’s name. Realizing that their influences and natural talents were emerging and
urging them to rock harder, the pair joined up with Eric “Swinny” Swiontkowki on bass and their original drummer the following spring. This powerful rhythm section, now with Dave Deriso on drums, brought the group to their current pop-infused rock sound, fronted by Jessica, and they were reborn as Catch Wild.

Their debut album, "Waking Up With Fire", was funded by a Kickstarter campaign which raised $5,000. The band recorded and mixed the album in two weeks, working 11 hour days, and couldn’t have been happier. The high energy sound and impressive guitar work thrives and dances around Jessica’s voice, drawing comparisons to the few other female oriented rock bands of recent years, such as Paramore. Influences such as Pat Benetar, Bush, Pearl Jam and Heart can also be heard, as Catch Wild brings listeners back to the days when rock was real, with guitars and honest songwriting ruling supreme over pop production and auto-tune.
