Category 5

Category 5 is a high energy band that performs cover material and original music. The band’s primary goal is entertaining your audience completely. By focusing on music one normally does not hear in a club, Category 5 connects with audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

A Category 5 storm is a culmination of elements and events coming together and occurring at the right time to create something powerful. This made Category 5 a fitting name for our band. As we are a culmination of elements and events that came together at the right time to make powerful music.

The band was formed in late 2006 as a cover project. Once together, we started to write original material and found that it had an appeal to our audiences. This appeal continues to drive us to write and produce the best songs possible. With the completion of our first EP – “Off The Ivory Coast” in December 2009, we hope to widen the appeal of our original music to audiences beyond the geographic area we currently perform in. ( Off the Ivory coast is where most Hurricanes form).

With everyone in the bands love of the Arena Rock style, our live performances project the same feel and intensity you would experience at a large arena concert. All elements of production are important to the band. Sound, lighting and musical performance all come together to leave a lasting impression on an audience and have them wanting more!

From hard hitting original music to cover material that will blow audiences away, Category 5 is a high energy band that will entertain any audience!

EP: Off the Ivory Coast - 12/2009

Our cover material ranges covers many styles and artisits and focuses on non-traditional choices to cover. We focus on material one does not typically hear cover bands performing.
