Catherine Heathcliff

Catherine Heathcliff

BandMetal

You might not think a bunch of nerds in dress shirts and loafers from rural Ontario would even know what hardcore is. Think again! Groovey hooks, occasional rythmic mania with a sprinkling of quirky riffing with nods to everything from grindcore to classic rock - we do it all and give it our all! CH

Biography

Catherine Heathcliff, formed in early 2011 is a bombastic troupe of Canadian musicians that have come together in the Toronto area after growin' up in the boonies of Southwestern Ontario!

Hardcore is the common thread within the group, but CH is all encompassing with a song list that includes plodding epics with beefy grooves (think Tesseract or Uneven Structure) to frantic audio assaults with riff upon riff marching upon your ears (Sikth anyone??).

At the heart of the band is a devotion to a raw, live feel and to keep you guessing on where a song will go to the bitter end.

Catherine Heathcliff is sure to pleasantly crack your speakers open and electrify your brain... lobotomies all round'!!!

Lyrics

This City Has No Say

Written By: Evan Brotherston

Lie beside me!
We can warm our cold bodies.
Late though it is
I’ve been dying for this.
And its never seemed so bright
Screaming at the oncoming lights.
Mab I drove into the beam.
Victim of love my soul ripped at the seams.
Squire write my last will, will you please.
Plan out my death with your stupidity.

Lying next to you on this deathly chilling night.
We can finally rest and give up the fight.
Lying next to you on this deathly chilling night.
We can finally rest and give up the fight.

You can try to force the wheel of fate.
But love will cry the city has no say.

That which upon yonder window breaks.
Our love tried to relocate.
But we paused too late,
To stop the colliding paths
Of love and fate.

Lie beside me!
We can warm our cold bodies.
Late though it is
I’ve been dying for this.
And its never seemed so bright
Screaming at the oncoming lights.

No!

Sharks

Written By: Evan Brotherston

I awoke a monster
Reproachful insidious
I stand before you emerging so hideous
A cretin as this crawl from the abyss

Unholy roach upon my metamorphosis

Why? Why Gregor God, Why?
Why? Why Gregor God, Why?

I awoke a monster

I stand before you now
Felled like the once majestic bow
Agony can you hear the sound?
Can you hear its sound?

Of me smother my sister and pitying mother.
Dead to my father pushed farther and farther not villain nor martyr,
Into the fires of loath. Revolting its growing.
Can I call this living? Or is this pain even worth knowing?

Consuming and straining
Their patience is waning
They can’t keep feigning
A love they’ve been drain of

So toss me into the water.
Leave me for the sharks.
Sinking my cries grow softer.
As I’m pulled into the dark.

I awoke a monster
Reproachful insidious
I stand before you emerging so hideous
A cretin as this A cretin as this

Unholy roach upon my metamorphosis
