Elements

Lit the candles in your heart and you let me drink your words
We lay down against the earth and smelled the perfumed world
Licked the moisture from the air and felt the evening breathe
While shooting stars ignite the sky, fireflies comb the trees

We had what it takes and we ate the cake of pleasure
And what ever happens there’ll be water, earth and fire and air forever

Sound of wave break on the shore, rhythm of a drum
Heard and unheard through the night until the morning comes

We had what it takes and we eat the cake of pleasure
And what ever happens there’ll be water, earth and fire and air forever

You lit the candles in my heart and you let me drink your words
We lay down against the earth and smelled the perfumed world
Licked the moisture from the air and felt the evening breathe
While shooting stars ignite the sky, fireflies comb the trees

We had what it takes and we ate the cake of pleasure
And what ever happens there’ll be water, earth and fire and air
We had what it takes and we eat the cake of pleasure
And what ever happens there’ll be water, earth and fire and air
Forever, forever, forever, forever

Not a Desperado

Written By: Catherine Mary Gibson

Not a Desperado

Swore I wasn’t going to write another song like this
But look what’s happened
Can’t get you out of my hair
I slept in half an hour so I could get to dream
But even there I held some ground
Not like a fantasy

I’m not a desperado but I’m driven by desire
Down a path strewn down a minefield
A field on fire
I’m not a desperado but I’m driven by desire
If I said it was any other way
I’d be a liar

Some say that urges must be met, that fire dissolves fire
It’s surely selfish, yes
And yet we revel in the pyre

I’m not a desperado but I’m driven by desire
Down a path strewn down a minefield
A field on fire
I’m not a desperado but I’m not driven by despair
‘Cause when the light comes in my life
I want to grow right there

Not going to get obsessed again, may be a passing flame
Life can get too serious, it’s time to play a game
Oldest story in the book, we always seem to yearn
And look what happens every time
Do we ever learn?

I’m not a desperado but I’m driven by desire
Down a path strewn down a minefield
A field on fire
I’ve only got a moment now to dream and then to yearn
But look what happens every time
A flame can only burn

I’m not a desperado, no, no, no, no
Do we ever learn?
I’m not a desperado
I’m not a desperado
I’m not a desperado
I’m not a desperado
I’m not a desperado
I’m not a desperado.
