Catrice Jene` Farmer

Catrice Jene` Farmer - an aspiring vocalist, artist, and writer. Born January 22, 1987, now at the promisingage of 19, she continues to charm audiences with her angelic voice and electrifying personality. It was apparent at the age of 4, that she had been blessed with the gift of voice. She got her start in the church choir and has been singing ever since. Catrice enjoys gospel, R & B, hip-hop, jazz, and opera. She enjoys the new but is no stranger to "old school". Her favorite performers include Rachel Farrell, Monica, Nora Jones, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Mario, and Alicia Keys. She performs as a soloist and also with a group. She has been in numerous talent shows and enjoys being in the spotlight. She was a dual scholar at both Landstown High School in Virginia Beach, VA and The Governor's School of the Arts from where she recieved her advanced diploma in June 2005. With education being high on her list of priorities, she continues her education at George Mason University majoring in Communications and Journalism Broadcasting/ Mass Media. To add to her most recent attributes, Catrice starred in Mozart's opera, The Marriage Of Figaro, performing the principle role of Marcellina. Also she gave an electrifying performance as the lead, in Henry Purcell's Opera Dido and Aenaes. She was also one of the Chosen local talents who performed at AFR' AM Fest 2004 presented by SEVAA (Southeastern Virginia Arts Association). Also, Catrice participates in numerous talent shows and has placed in the top three each time. For the 2004-2005 season, she traveled and performed with Virginia Opera as a chorister. Yet at the end of the day when all else doesn't place high on her list of priorities and she wishes to escape the worries of the world, MUSIC is and will always be her refuge.
