Bio

Two unique talents - weaving a musical tapestry of honest intelligent songwriting Cat Edmunds and Tanya Ransom are CATS RANSOM. Combining their groovy soulful sass along with guitars, cello, mandolin, djembe, cajon, a glockenspiel and soaring vocal harmonies, these two songstresses make for strikingly original songs in a diverse range of styles.

From jamming in the heat of the far-north Western Australia wetseason of 2007, Cats Ransom quickly evolved into one of Broome's favourite live acts.

Advocates for original independent music, these pindan ladies recently recorded their debut album "Mars to Pluto" in an old gutted out bus. Since launching their album in October last year, they've found themselves a tour bus of a different kind and have played their way around the country captivating audiences with their eclectic sounds.

Along the way Cats Ransom have played alongside Australian artists such as Liz Stringer, Leah Flanagan, Tash Parker, Jumbledat, Loren, Lisa Mitchell and many more... These talented women are embarking on the beginnings of a successful musical journey.

Now on the their home stretch back to Broome, Cats Ransom have in turn been captivated by the Freo music scene and will be playing around Perth and down to Margaret River and back again. Emersing themselves into music whenever they can, whether it be on the stage, or busking in the streets.
