Feeling a bit camera shy

Tom Caufield had played in bands from Ohio and Michigan, to New York, North Carolina and Nashville before arriving in Los Angeles. Maureen Doherty's musical journey had taken her on travels throughout Europe, Canada and the U.S. The two had been pursuing solo careers until a chance meeting at a Hermosa Beach Club brought them together. Sharing a double-bill, they were impressed with each other's talents and decided to try something as a duo. Both fans of rock's early harmony acts, they strived to forge a modern sound rooted in the Simon & Garfunkel/ Everly Brothers tradition. Soon, their compelling material, fluid guitar work, and especially their heavenly harmonies began to captivate even the rowediest of sports bars. Tom and Maureen had found a sound that was more unique, distinctive and powerful than their previous individual efforts. CAUFIELD was born.
