Bio
Caught in candy is an electro pop duo from Portland, OR.
Members Mickey Pollizatto and Daniel Bidwell have been best buds since they meet 5 years ago in a downtown bar. They started making music during impromptu 3 am jam sessions. From these they create their pop dance tunes with fun vocal arrangements.
Through their involvement with some of Portland's DIY Variety/Comedy shows (Breakfast of Champions, Sparkleheart's Burley-Q underground) they began performing their original creations and eventually started booking their own shows at all the Portland hot spots (Holocene, Dante's, Doug Fir, Acme, Porky's pub etc...) They have twice played with Pho Bang, Seattle's pioneering punk drag troop, and on several occasions opened for SissyBoy, Portlands own punk drag show. Caught in candy will also be featured this year in PICA�s (Portland Institute of Contemporary Arts) TBA festival.
Caught in candy appear on the stage as their alter-egos DannyDamage & MikkiSpin, but often they create other gender bending characters to perform their music. Two of which appeared separately on the cover of Portland's weekly paper, the Willamette Week, in 2005. Their most popular characters are Cabiria Jones & Maximillian Hertzalot, two retro 40's electro-cabaret performers saturated with drugs, greed and controversy. Caught in candy has recently started a video series featuring this dark couple.
