Bio
Cavalier is a British rock band comprising vocalist/guitarist Tom Harries, his brother James on the keys, Guy Prall on lead guitar, Rick Brearley on bass guitar and Mark Stormont on the drums.
The band was formed by four of the members who met at Durham University. Brothers Tom and James approached Rick and Mark having watched them perform in a club. By the end of the first practice session there was obvious chemistry, and the guys made an effort to get together as much as possible. Once Guy, a friend of Toms, was added to the band, Cavalier was complete. The band quickly made a name for themselves around the City with their first major event being a charity festival in Exeter in 2008. The band recorded their first E.P. late 2008.
Having moved to London in January 2009, the band debuted at the famous Troubadour club in Earls Court. Since then they have played at some of London's other prestigious venues - Proud Galleries, O2 Academy Islington and The Bedford to name a few. In July 2009 Cavalier was put through to the finals of the Jar Music Breakout competition. The band were filmed and interviewed by Unseen TV at the Semi-Final, and will be featured on Distract TV after their appearance at the Finals.
Their music has been played around the UK, and in the USA online and over the air on local and national radio stations. BBC Introducing recorded a live session with the band in February and regularly feature new tracks from the band on air.
