Like the Osmonds, The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, The Jackson 5, Kings of Leons, The Carter Family and The Shaggs, Woodman believe that making music can be a family affair. Frank Woodman, songwriter, singer,and rhythm guitar, 21 year old son Derek Woodman on reverb soaked lead guitar and 18 year old daughter Hillary Woodman with haunting vocals, are Woodman. Registered Nurse and aspiring songwriter, unable to get a band together due to afternoon shift restrictions, recruits his young ones to flesh out his plaintive songs. The experiment worked, with the Woodman voices melding together for some sweet Americana. Songs about childhood joys, lost innocence and stolen car rides, show their love for the American folk song. Joining the Woodman 3 are powerhouse drummer Kevin Maliszewski and thunder fingers Adam Fuller on bass guitar. This swinging rhythm section add a rock edge that is ready for the stage. Woodman have graced stages all over the city of Detroit including triumphant shows at the 2009 metrotimes Hamtramck Blowout festival, Comerica Cityfest and Ferndale's DIY fest.
