Cavender

BandPopRock

Young and refreshing pop-rock band from southern New Hampshire. Female-fronted with undeniably powerful vocals and catchy melodies; backed by an air-tight group of energetic and talented musicians.

Biography

Battling through the ever-rising rapids of female-fronted pop-rock bands can be more than exhausting. Cavender, of southern New Hampshire, has proven strong against the current, managing to stay afloat through unpredictable waters since forming in the fall of 2006.

With front-woman, Drew Young, at the helm, it's no surprise that Cavender has seamlessly surpassed expectations of mediocrity. Young's soaring melodies have been said by fans to be "truly a voice no one will forget." On board with bassist, Johnny Roberge, the band welcomed guitarist, Ian Bergeron, and drummer, Ryan Stockbridge, to their crew in December of 2008, so far proving to be their most solid line-up to date.

After the online release of their debut self-titled EP, recorded by Michael Poorman (Hot Rod Circuit, Piebald) in the summer of 2008, Cavender is more than ready to hit the studio with a vessel of new material. Plans for a brand-new three-song EP are in the works for this coming winter.

With two years of shows under their belt across the northeast, sharing the stage with several national acts, Cavender has successfully captured the attention of audiences of all ages. This band is ready to set sail on a much larger sea, with tours on the horizon for 2010.

"These Are The Nights," off Cavender's self-titled EP, is currently receiving fan requests and frequent radio airplay on Augusta, Maine's 105.1 WTOS.

Lyrics

Perfect Star

Written By: Drew Young

With the world knocking upon your front door
Will you turn the knob?
To face the place you left behind
In order to find
That you are where you want to be
After all you worked so hard for just to see
You've retraced your steps back to me

I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your stare from me
I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your, to keep your stare from me

As my world crumbles down around my feet
The ground it shakes
And I am hesitating contemplating
My escape from you
And the lock has rusted out
And I have no more room to doubt
The way you move me
I am moving swiftly away, I am free

I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your stare from me
I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your, to keep your stare from me

This night, it covers, every inch of my body
I am safe beneath these gleaming deities
The way you move me, amongst these galaxies we breathe

I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your stare from me
I will wait tonight
To find a perfect star
To align my eyes with
To keep your, to keep your stare from me

These Are The Nights

Written By: Drew Young

This year I'll put the pack back down
But keep this bottle we have
That we're still passing around
And we know
These are the nights that we will take it slow
We let it go (but)
We're still young and we're best friends
But we've had enough to deal with
Just to take it all in
But we see
These are the nights that help us
Make tomorrow be tomorrow

So keep your shoulders back
Another year on track

This is where we end
And where I finally begin
And yes, I'll breath it all in
Let's bring the night alive again (x2)

Last year I should have made it my best
But I had too much to deal with
With your weight on my chest
And you knew
Which words were better to use
For the right excuse
You've been excused
I'm through with accusing you
And only blame myself for blaming you
It's not just what you do but how you do it
We'll get through it

So keep your head up high
And say goodbye

This is where we end
And where I finally begin
And yes, I'll breath it all in
Let's bring the night alive again (x2)

How many times have we tried to win this fight?
But we know that
This will be the night we get it right

This is where we end
And where I finally begin
And yes, I'll breath it all in
Let's bring the night alive again (x2)
