FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CBJ (Chef Boy Jr.) Releases Debut Album

The talented musician from Toronto is set to release his exciting debut album, a move which will thrill his army of fans across the world.

CBJ is preparing to release his debut album later this month, marking a huge stage in the career of the multi-talented pop singer-songwriter. CBJ, who lives in Toronto, Canada, has just put the final touches to the single, and is now preparing for the imminent release that will hopefully build upon his fan base and get his music heard by more people than ever.

The single, ‘The Come Up Volume 1 Frustration’, consists of great sound production and clean song writing from CBJ, each bar providing a combination his high-energy vibe, melodious vocals and heartfelt lyrics. The rhythmic undercurrent bears testament to CBJ (a traditional song writing) life experiences, and the music is punctuated throughout with elements of pop, hip-hop, punk, rock and R&B.

The album was recorded at Sand Box Studios in Toronto, and its creation was supported by musicians who have been associated with SandBox, CherryBeach and CBJ's mentors. It was produced by KR Moore.

The theme of the single underlies the changes that CBJ has gone through over recent years, the biggest of which being ‘Frustrated’ with many aspects of life as he grew. It was this that allowed him to thrive off the new opportunities presented to him, to explore fresh sounds and develop his musical style.

‘The Come Up Volume 1 Frustration’ reveals the stunning array of influences that have found their way into CBJ's music. Whilst his grounding came in the deep tone of pop and hip hop music – he began to get himself known whilst performing in venues throughout Toronto – he was always keen to bring something unique to his genre sound. For this reason, his emphasis on pop hip hop has been enhanced by his ability to write in ways inspired by life's challenges.

CBJ’s life has certainly been full of experiences. Not long ago, he was invited to perform live his school, an unforgettable experience that just goes to show how far he has already made a name for himself. As well as that, he has also featured on live feeds and radio in Atlanta GA on the HRTV, and his appeal just continues to grow.

CBJ has said of his work: “Success is for everyone we should go get it. I was always a fan of the art of music, the love for pop hip hop give me that outlet I needed as a child to express myself. it wasn’t until I was 16 that I actually picked up music seriously, and that was a real changing point for me."

“Since then, my style has developed and I’ve incorporated other sounds and genres which have all made their way into ‘The Come Up Volume 1 Frustration’. The single is a reflection of my influences over the years and the changes that I’ve experienced recently in my life.”

With a track that takes up an entire room, CBJ refuses to restrict his influences to one genre. Instead, he has been influenced by numerous artists and genres of music from across the globe, including, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars amongst many others.

CBJ does not shy away from including police brutality references in his music, reflecting one of his other long-term interests, human rights writing. This can be deduced from recent samples of his song which include sound bites and excerpts from news broadcasts relating to the issues in his city.

The single will be launching shortly, and fans are encouraged to visit CBJ's website, which provides everything you could want to know about the young artist. As well as checking out videos of CBJ being interviewed on Live Trigger and photos of him in action, you can also follow him on social media and get information about upcoming gigs and new releases. - Tamal Benjamin-Johnson
