Bio

C Boogie began his career as an MC in the group, Three-Fold, performing mostly in the Bridgeport area, where they opened for Digable Planets at the University of Connecticut.

A believer in all things hip hop, C Boogie used his dancing skills to earn him a spot on Mariah Carey's Dream Lover Tour. He also performed in videos for Whitney Houston, Will Smith, Little Louie Vega. He also landed a spot in Spike Lee’s “The 25th Hour. Soon thereafter he begun to teach dance and perform internationally in countries like Japan, South Korea, London and the Netherlands.

But the art of rhyming called to him again and he formed a new group, TriStateofMind with MCs AM Sunshine and Regg Lo. The trio began putting hard work into making demos and working the local club scene. TriStateOfMind opened up for groups like Gargantua Soul at Toads Place in New Haven, performed at the Lyricist Lounge at the Nuyorican Soul Café, in Brooklyn, NY, the Nkiru Center run and owned by Black Star ( Mos Def & Talib Kweli), and the Soul Café in mid town Manhattan.

C Boogie separated himself from TriStateOfMind, and embarked on a solo career.
With the help Spitkickers Inc. a hip-hop company run by De La Soul and other affiliates, he began to polish and mature not only his lyrics, but also his stage presence. With the likes of Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Jean Grae, MF Doom and others who joined Spitkicker, Cboogie improved amongst his peers in the ever growing hip-hop community. His affiliation with Spitkicker led to some opening slots for Slum Village and Baatin of Slum Village’s solo performances.

In 2005, C Boogie signed a record deal with the indie label Exotic Recordings. He’s been busy performing, opening for Jaguar Wright, Lady Bug Mecca of Digable Planets, John Legend and a performance at the CMJ Music Conference in New York. He is currently recording his debut album “The Benefactor” due out early next year.
