Bio

Chris Campione, the voice of the group, is originally from Mohawk, New York. He now lives in the beautiful city of Burlington, Vermont. He started playing guitar around the age of 14, but put the instrument down for a few years. He was later turned on by the solo acoustic performance of Aaron Lewis’s “Outside”. Campione then began learning a variety of rhythm guitar based. His early influences included Dave Matthews, and Guster. The Trio’s front man then began learning basic chords and worked his way up from there. Campione’s later influences include Eddie Vedder, and Matt Nathanson. He is 100% self taught regarding his playing and songwriting ability. Campione acquires much of his lyrical inspiration from books, movies, and his emotional state at the time of his writing.

Eric Hoehn has been playing drums since the 5th grade and has been in and out of bands since the age of 14. Growing up, he had musical roots in blues (from his dad), but when Eric was in his teens, he was really into punk rock. The first few bands Eric was in were punk bands. They would do covers of NOFX, Rancid, and pretty much anything off of the Epitaph label (which is still to this day his favorite record label). Once he came to college he met up with Chris Brant. They were in a band for a couple of years and had some good times playing shows. After a couple of years, the band split, as they are now with the Trio These days, Eric’s musical tastes are very diverse. They range from Death Cab for Cutie, Sufjan Stevens, and Bright Eyes to The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Refused to The Arcade Fire, Motion City Soundtrack, and The Hives (just to name a few). Eric adds, “I really enjoy playing shows with these guys now because it’s always fun to be playing shows and we usually always have a good time with the crowd.” Finally, with this group, Eric will mainly play a Remo 27 X 16 Inch Djembe (Earth color), but has also played set.

Guitarist Chris Brant is also originally from Mohawk along with Campione. Even being from the same town they did not start writing together until a couple years ago. Chris started playing guitar when he was fifteen. He has been taking lessons for almost seven years. He joined his first band in about a year after playing and has been in three different groups since then, including the CC Trio. One of these groups was Stoic Daydream, which Eric was the drummer for. Brant began writing with Campione after Stoic Daydream went their separate ways. He has been attending the College of Saint Rose for music industry and has taken courses in artist management, music business, recording, and more. Brant recorded, mixed and produced the Trio’s first EP entitled “When the Storm Clears”. His influences include classic rock bands such as The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin to modern rock like Coldplay and Radiohead, to Indie Rock like Pavement. He enjoys the creative process of writing music and watching it come alive in front of an audience.
