Bio
"Jobs are for money - Singing is for love". Cece & Ruth are grass-roots artists, performing part-time in New England after their day jobs. Their motto is "harmony, history & humor". At their first meeting in 1997, the duo was pronounced a "match made in heaven", as two voices blended effortlessly in a harmony-rounds song. Ruth brings a world of songs from her travels around the globe, including songs in Spanish from her time in Mexico, and has been the driving force in finding Traditional influences for the act. Cece has opened shows for Odetta, John McCutcheon, Mustards Retreat and more, and is the song-writer of the duo. They perform at festivals, secular and church coffeehouses, museums, nature centers and other "listening" venues. Giving freely of their talents to benefits and the local Veterans Hospital is a continuing policy, while their paying gigs cover their costs of equipment, promotion and annual trips to SAMW Music Camp.
