A true storyteller who gives standards a new feeling, jazz vocalist Cecilia Long sings with depth and emotion to take listeners to exotic locales, through tumultuous relations and into melodic bliss....
Cecilia began her jazz career in Washington, DC, growing up listening to jazz, blues and gospel greats. Honing her skills in the true jazz vocal tradition of singing, scatting and improvising at area jams, Cecilia was mentored by some of the best jazz musicians of the time including Grady Tate, Ronnie Wells, Raz Kennedy, and Seth Riggs and going on to perform with many of the world's best jazz musicians, she's sang with George Colligan, Art Khu, Paul Dorr, Buck Hill, Ron Elliston, Raz Kennedy, Vince Lateano, Carla Kaufman, YaYa, Tammy Hall, Buster Williams, Dee Spencer, Aaron Germain and many others.

Her stage credits includ Jazz Times’ East Coast Jazz Festival, The JazzSchool, Ritz Carlton, Washington, DC, Heart and Soul Café, One Step Down Jazz Club, Shoreham Hotel, Octavia Lounge, Herbst Theater, The Plush Room, Zingari, ODC theater, Twins Jazz Club, Jillian’s, Club Jazz Nouveau, Sheba Lounge, Hotel Drim in Sturga, Macedonia and the Plush Room as well as stages in Kansas City, Houston, Paris, New York, Bulgaria and Macedonia

An accomplished storyteller, actress and teacher, Cecilia has taught in San Francisco schools as well as internationally. In the summers of 2008 and 2009, Cecilia taught at art camps for middle school and high school students in Kyustendil, Bulgaria and Struga, Macedonia. Her stage credits include the lead role in “Sparky Infusion,” George Coates’ Blind Messenger and Charles Blackwell’s “Respectfully Yours.”

Cecilia has also received airplay on WPFW's 'Master Program' in DC, been a featured artist on RCV 99 in Lille, France, and the skyjazz.com “Discovery” program, interviewed on Strangers in the Night in Bulgaria, and appeared on local news programs in Kuystendil, Bulgaria and Ohrid Macedonia.
