Bio

Cecilia Mackie was born of a Spanish mother and English father in London, UK. She began to write songs and play the piano when she was 10. At school she was an M.C. at clubs and warehouse parties. She would rap and sing over drum and bass beats at some of the biggest clubs in Manchester, UK. At the time her stage name was M.C.C.

Mackie came to New York on her own with $500 in her pocket. Here she has worked as a singer in many different capacities. Her first US release (Simple World 2003) was recorded in Miami and New York with Ish Ledesma (Foxy). It was on a luscious lounge tip and she recognized her Latin heritage by writing a number of the songs in her mother’s tongue. She has performed in countless venues in New York.

Mackie has worked with two grammy nominated producers. The first is Demi-Doc who has produced vocals and/or records for R Kelly, Ashanti, Ja Rule, Ruben Studdard and Keyshia Cole. She has also worked with Bob Cutarella who produced the Les Paul & Friends project where he made tracks for Sting, Joss Stone, Keith Richards and Eric Clapton. He won two grammys for this work.

Currently she produces uptempo electronic dance records. She produces every element of these records herself and also does the mixing and mastering. There are no other authors or performers on this most recent set of work. She performs with dancers and dances herself. She also accompanies herself on the piano.
