Never before has the San Francisco Bay Area produced a Christian band such as Cede. Our fervent prayer is for an awakening among our neighbors here in northern California, an awakening that will spread throughout the world.
Cede has a very full and muscular sound. With three vocalists and five musicians, they still manage to keep a very tight and clean performance. Their music includes Christian rock, gospel, and inspirational.

A worship project started by singer and songwriter Scott Metcalf in San Francisco, Cede brings together a collection of nine highly accomplished musicians with impressive CVs, some of whom have worked with acts like Chris Tomlin and Coldplay. The 12 tracks that result on 'New Beginnings' are an extremely diverse mix consisting of guitar-driven praise ballads, gospel choir-led songs - complete with 'amens' and 'hallelujahs' - along with some quieter bluesy numbers and new versions of old hymns. There are some special moments on this album such as the fantastic version of "Trading My Sorrows" and "We Will Reach The Other Side" which ends with a full-on gospel knees up. Musical influences clearly abound on this eclectic set but one of the most evident is on the song "Shades Of Grey" which carries more than a few shades of Jars Of Clay. All in all, this is impressive stuff and is recommended if you are open to a wide sweep of musical genres. - CrossRhythms

The buzz surrounding Cede has been unusually strong right from the start - radio markets across the Midwest and Eastern US picked up the first 4 singles before their album was even released and the accolades continue to pour in from CCM and Gospel stations alike. Invitations to play at churches and Christian music events followed, including an unprecedented booking for an indie band: playing at both Spirit West Coast events in 2011 and 2012.
Cede brings together 9 highly accomplished writers, singers and musicians who have shared the stage and studio with artists such as David Crowder, Sonicflood, Caedmon's Call, and Chris Tomlin, to name just a few. The band utilizes the varied backgrounds of its songwriters to create a unique and powerful blend of CCM, Gospel and Funk sounds.
Cede has been compared to a wide diversity of bands from Jars of Clay to the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir.
