"Houston Music News"

Tonight we were invited out to see a new band called Celestial Centerfold. They're performing at the "all new" Houston Live downtown Houston. Celestial Centerfold is an up and coming new indie band based in Houston, TX. The band has a lot of energy which features one hot guitarist and a very soulful singer named CeS. Influences on her and the band include Rage Against The Machine, (hed) PE, 311, Eminem, and Nirvana. Check out their performances right now on MNTV (Music News Television) at http://www.houstonmusicnews.net - Houston Music News

Bio

Celestial Centerfold is an indie rock/alternative band based out of Houston, TX. Female vocalist CeS*'s hip-hop influenced lyrics mixed with hard hitting guitars create a freshly innovative sound for the music scene.  Fans have referred to it as "thrashy power-pop" and "groove-funk." CeS* grew up in an area of Houston's westside where hip-hop culture overlayed her rock-n-roll upbringing. An intense lifelong love of music coupled with a "near-life experience" led her to form a rock band.

C.C. made their debut in 2012 and since have played at Hard Rock Cafe, during SXSW in Austin, Springboard South Music Festival, reached #2 on the local rock chart, and opened for national act Girl In A Coma. February 2014 commenced with CC's debut single "Roll With Me" receiving airplay on Houston FM radio. A showcase during SXSW 2014 with California punk-rap renegades, (Hed) P.E, made waves as CC continued gaining momentum. In just two years since the band’s inception, the female-fronted rap-rock foursome performed the 2-day Houston Beer Festival to thousands of music fans alongside a great lineup of diverse bands including Alien Ant Farm.

Tragedy struck the group when their late and dearly missed guitarist, Ken King, passed mysteriously in his sleep just a week before his birthday. “He was a truly talented star… and so humble. He left a lasting impression in the hearts of all that knew him,” say his surviving band members.  Hundreds turned out to pay their respects.

After some lineup changes the original members pressed on with an inspirationally gifted guitarist, Dylan T. Currently, CC is writing new music as previously recorded tracks are mixed by Mike Thompson of Ivory Tower Music. With an EP release in the works, Celestial Centerfold continues to write new material and perform, increasing a growing fan-base. “When I was a kid I wanted to be an astronaut, so now we really reach for the stars,” says CeS*.  This love of astronomy and everything space led to the naming of the band, Celestial Centerfold.
