"Modest Minnie Mouse"

If Modest Mouse were girls, they'd sound exactly like this. Which, the more I listen, sounds even better than MM. Huge charisma, wealth of details, could listen a hundred times and not get bored.
Tasty drumming, love the guitar sound. One of the top 10 tunes (of many many hundreds) i've heard on garageband. I want more stuff from this band, NOW.

"Neat sound"

Wow!

Huge orchestral use of vocals! Builds, builds, builds, then drops back to where it started.

What a mood! This is outstanding. Huge, dense arrangement with stuff going on and drowning me in mood. The guitar finger sounds give it a really neat feel. The whole thing feels like it's sliding around, I'm on acid and tripping in some Far Eastern temple.

The female's vocal sound is neat...she sounds just like the singer from the Postmarks. The guy sounds a little more generic a la the guy from Roxette, but together, they work perfectly for the most beautiful sound I've heard on garageband.

The percussion just lends that whole temple feel, too. The guitars are perfectly jangly to stay above the vocals.

The mix is wonderful...the reverb is perfectly done...awash, yet everything is still distinct.

5 stars!

"ART"

I have gotten into some bitter battles over the years regarding music as an art form. I say this. If a band sets out to be "popular" and write "hits" then the music is not "ART". Its just a bunch of monkeys in suits. If a band follows its heart, works hard and still has success...ART. This track smacks of ART. The music is richly textured. The composition is interesting and different. Chord progress from majors to minors in unpredictable ways creating an ethereal mood. The mood is further enhanced by the female lead vocals. Thin and clear, she floats among, then stands against, the power of the musical elements. The background vocals and harmonies are the final step...simple, elegant. The arrangment offers smooth, bubbling beats carrying alternating keys of captured air and the crunch of earth from the guitars. Followers of bands like Morcheeba will instantly understand what this band is doing...except I personally like this better. So get your dose of ART today...hit play now.
