Bio

Canadian independent artist, produced by Grammy (Taj Mahal) & Juno award-winning producer Steve Bigas of Porcelain Records. "Cependant", is songwriter Rachel Narula and her band of exceptional musicians. Her captivating bilingual songs reflect themes reminiscent of and influenced by French literature, spun into catchy melodies and universal themes. "Cependant" delivers a distinct voice, making the listening experience a refreshing combination of pop rock infused sensibility and subtle rebellion.

The first single titled "Chère Jalousie" is receiving air play on 20 broadcast radio stations in the Province of Quebec, Canada and the video for the single has received 80,000 views on YouTube in the first 10 weeks. "Cependant" has inked a worldwide distribution deal and the video for "Chère Jalousie" will be sent to MusiMax & Musique Plus video channels in conjunction with the February 2013 street date for the release.

The "Cependant" debut release titled "Homme Invisible" is driven by Rachel's Anglophone/Francophone upbringing, that influences the lyrical messages in a unique blend of both languages in an Acadianesque style similar to the regional dialect called "Chiac". The current dual language trend with French and English songs is apparent with artists, such as: "Garou", "Arcade Fire", "Lady Gaga", "Sean Kingston & Simple Plan" and the classic song called "Lady Marmalade" which was a number-one hit song, reaching the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts twice: in 1975 and then 26 years later in 2001 with its instantly recognizable French lyrical line.

"Cependant" is performing at venues across Ontario and applying for showcase opportunities in Canada and France at music industry conferences that include Contact Ontario & the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities to expand their presence in the musical marketplace.
