This music is categorized by those outside the church as gospel, but to those inside the church it’s Rap. Get The Message Record’s (GTMR) aims to change this perception. Revolutionizing, the rap game with the breakthrough of a rapper whose flow and lyrical ability would make him a contender with the reigning freshmen and veterans of the rap industry. Stailey Styles, IV was born in Orlando, Fl. August 29, 1987. As a child Stailey, remembers encountering rap through his cousin who helped him put together his first rap song. In elementary never hearing a rap song, he was asked to perform a rap solo in a school play, which was a Christian Academy (go figure). This was Stailey’s first performance as a rapper that propelled him to continue his passion for music. In high school he began to make beats with Hip-Hop Ejay and eventually upgrading to the beginners favorite Fruity Loops. As Stailey continued in high school he meet a friend whose lyrical ability far surpassed his own. Stailey knew this but was willing to produce beats and feature on songs alongside his friend. When high school came to a close the group they created was renown around their city, but as most people know at the end of high school real life begins. As they grew apart Stailey was left with a decision to choose the military or to stay home to attend college. He chose college.
His destiny was becoming clear yet still clouded that music is what he was pre-destined to do. Once again, God brought a childhood friend who mentored Stailey into becoming a lyricist and true Hip-Hop head. With marijuana aka mary-jane, becoming more his idol than friend, Stailey and his friend began to write, freestyle, and listen to music daily perfecting their craft. As time went on as Stailey and his friend became serious about their music so that it could become more of a career than a hobby. One evening, Stailey found himself in his car hearing the Lord tell him what would become of his life if he stayed on path he was on. After that night constant thoughts of death entered his mind. And the rap game that he was so deeply immersed in began to show its true colors. His choice was eternal life and turned his back on everything he had grown to love.
Not knowing what would become of his passion for music it didn’t matter, because he had an assurance of where he would rest eternally. As he began to grow in the Lord and come to know this savior, the word was given to him to MAKE MUSIC! With a heart to reach out to people the vision was to take the music given to him and give it to the people, so they too could know about the true and living God.
