Après le populaire groupe Loverboy, cela a été le tour de Certified à mettre le feu sur la scène et faire danser l'imposante foule présente sous la grande tente, le 23 juillet dernier, à l'occasion des Journées Hospitalités de Bathurst.
Nouveau sur la scène musicale de la région Chaleur, depuis février 2009, Certified ne cesse d'impressionner sur la scène locale avec ses arrangements musicaux, ses voix puissantes et son incroyable énergie. Rassemblé par les soirées de «jam» entre amis et leur amour pour la musique, Marc-André Pelletier (guitare), Stéphane Hébert (voix et guitare), Michelle Duclos (voix), Caroline Boudreau (instrumentaliste et voix), René Vienneau (batterie) et Philippe Robichaud (basse), aiment pouvoir se présenter sur scène devant une foule. «Être sur scène c'est incroyable, nous nous motivons l'un et l'autre et toutes nos énergies fusionnent. C'est certain que nous avons dû prendre le temps de bien nous connaitre, mais nous formons dorénavant une vraie petite famille», a expliqué Michelle Duclos.
À leur toute première prestation sur scène en tant que groupe, Certified a du démontrer leur savoir-faire au comité organisateur des Journées Hospitalités, afin de gagner leur place sur la grille horaire. Avec leur répertoire varié, peu d'amateurs de rock, de blues ou encore de jazz n'ont pas réussi à contenir leur envie de taper du pied ou encore de chanter au rythme de la musique. Interprétant un grand nombre de classiques, Certified a ajouté son grain personnel en jouant deux pièces originales. Le groupe est présentement en période d'écriture, afin de pouvoir enregistrer un démo prochainement.
Les six musiciens originaires de la région Chaleur étaient emballés de pouvoir effectuer la deuxième partie de Loverboy, l'un des spectacles les plus attendus du Festival. «C'est comme j'ai dit au chanteur de Loverboy, nous à Bathurst on garde le meilleur pour le début», a déclaré en riant Caroline Boudreau.
Pour sa première participation aux Journées hospitalité de Bathurst, Certified a certe répondu aux attentes et encore plus. Comme quoi, il ne faut pas chercher bien loin pour un trouver un groupe qui saura «rocker» nos soirées.
Certified se produira pour la toute première fois dans la Péninsule acadienne à La Grande Maison de Caraquet, le 31 juillet prochain. Le groupe foulera à nouveau la scène de la marina de Bathurst le 7 août et des différents bars de la région Chaleur. Vous pourriez même les retrouver, possiblement, lors de l'une de vos futures fêtes de famille ou d'amis. Originally from the Bathurst area, in Northern New-Brunswick, all 6 members of Certified have been performing solo or with bands for many years. When Stéphane & Michelle came back home from Ontario, they formed an acoustic trio with his brother Marc-Andre. While slowly getting back on the New-Brunswick music scene, they’ve reconnected with long time musician friends Caroline, Rene & Phil who were also in a band together. That’s where the magic happened. The two groups joined forces in Febuary 2009 to create “CERTIFIED” and 5 months later, the 6 piece Rock-Funk-Blues band was the closing act for Rock Legend group “Loverboy” during Bathurst Hospitality Days in July.
Music and friendship is what first brought them together, then the hard work, dedication and true musicianship created “CERTIFIED”. Constantly enhancing their stage presence, musical arrangements, harmonies and originality, they strive to please every music lover of any age group. With Stephane's electrifying guitar sound and sultry voice, Caroline's deep energetic voice, keyboards & saxophone and Michelle’s captivating folk-Rock voice, they lead the band with powerful harmonies. Phil's funky bass lines, Marc-Andre’s feverish Rhythm and Rene's Devilish beats leave no one indifferent.
In a very short time, Certified has built a large fan base in Northern New-Brunswick by connecting with their audience, mesmerizing with their originality, versatility and sound. Their first and foremost reason for performing is not for the fame and glory, but for the love of music and entertainment. Multiple band members are multi-instrumentalists and writers. Certified’s influences are very wide in styles, but represent the artists that they admire for their love of music, their talent and their devotion to the industry. When the time comes to create original material, every member brings a personnal touch aquired from many years of experience and from learning through great musicians such as; Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin,
Stevie Wonder, Tracey Starr, Kings of Leon, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, U2, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, Jack Johnson, Aretha Franklin, JP LeBlanc and Yes…just to name a few.
Certified will be releasing an album in New-Brunswick in the near futur. To be able to do that, they need as much support and exposure as possible. They are ready and want to share their sound and passion with music lovers all around the globe. The question is: Are you ready to be CERTIFIED?!
