Musically born Cuban national, Cesar Ricardo advanced his career in the area of performance and recording 5 years ago when he first moved to Canada. Playing for 1000's of tourists in some of Cuba's best hotels, Cesar was always in demand. Cesar has quite a Canadian following already and looks forward to more integration of his latin music in the amazing Canadian music scene. Currently working on his first CD, Cesar composes and scores his own music at his home base studio and plans to move his group to a professional studio end of 2010. Traditionally a baritone singer, Cesar is unique in the variety of styles he can sing and play. Along with his professional dynamic voice, Cesar is an accomplished guitarist and an emerging bassist. Cesar continues to develop his talents in all areas of music - the passion never dies!
In 2009 Cesar won 2nd place at the Chin Radio-Carleton University song-writing competition, and in March 2010 was showcased on Rogers Daytime Ottawa where he and his 5-piece band played to very impressed hosts.
Working with many other talented artists and friends from Cuba, Mexico, Colombia and Canada, Cesar has performed twice at the Ottawa Jazz Festival (2010 will mark his third time), The Ottawa Blues Festival, 3 times at the 4th stage at the NAC, one with the Canadian sensational travelling show "Babes for Breasts Charity" with the energetic Caridad Cruz. Cesar continues to play in a host of festivals, pubs and restaurants both solo and with his band and enjoys the intimate setting of small venues, a chance to connect with the people. The Ottawa Tulip Festival, Quebec's 400th celebration, Chelsea's Musical Tuesdays, Zaphod's, Carnival of Clutures, Help Heal Hati fundraiser and Ottawa's Race Day for Cancer are just a handful of events that Cesar has played in the past few years.
Cesar is versatile, determined, talented and never fails to excite the audience in a performance, he can move the people and get them on their feet.
