Bio
Cetra combines intense live shows with richly textured compositions that transcend mainstream rock. There’s no doubting that this is an exceptional band. Since their formation out of the ashes of Langley’s “Adamant” two years ago, the group has risen and reformed, breaking through the confines of the local scene. With anticipation building over their upcoming full-length album, Cetra has an exponentially growing fan base due to the popularity of their two independently released EP’s.
Cetra has been focused on creating something different while letting their diverse influences bleed through. Their result is only definable as a melting pot of kick ass drumming behind cutting edge synth, metal guitar riffs and poppy melodic vocal lines that leave you humming. Heavy and grinding at one moment, beautiful and atmospheric the next, Cetra pushes the musical envelope with complex time signatures and diverse song writing. Their 2006 self-titled EP was a powerful statement of their ability to draw on their many influences and natural talent to create original music.
The members are: Tyler Christiaens (vocals), Josh Carlsen (drums), Colin Fode (guitar), Josh McLaughlin (vocals/synth), Taylor Normandeau, and TJ Humenick (bass).
