Biography

Based in Phoenix since originating in 2005, the members of Comfort For Change consist of Richard Carlise as the voice of the band, Anthony Gabuzzi, Cameron Cook, and Steve Medigovich as the strings, and Ben Anderson on drums. They blend two unparalleled guitars, a resounding bass, and a core of steadfast drumbeats with double bass for a solid wall of hard rock. Fuse these with undulating roars and screams burning down into melodic vocals, and see why they are one of the more uniquely heavy bands on the local scene. All of the members are from previous bands: Richard, Anthony and Cam coming from Stuckmode, Steve coming from Kill The New Kelly, and Ben coming from Depiction Of A Massacre. The name Comfort For Change was decided upon when all the members realized that their distinct musical talents and recent major changes in their lives had led them all to jam together. Moving from pounding breakdowns to haunting swings of ballad-like melodies, Comfort For Change is anything but the ordinary and creates a different genre of rock all on their own. While listening to the songs, most people find themselves instantaneously dropping their heads to the catchy beats, notable distortions, and engaging vocals. Major influences include Deftones, Killswitch Engage, 36 Crazyfists, The Bled and Glassjaw. With unpredictable rhythms and metal-searing riffs, their passionate energy and love for a unique and unknown sound makes this band a must to hear, and will leave you desiring to hear more. After winning the Edgefest Big Break competition and playing main stage for the festival Comfort for Change has been unstoppable. Comfort has shared the stage with Flyleaf, Jimmy Eat World, Plain White Tees, Wicked Wisdom, Hot Hot Heat, Hurt, Eisley, Bedouin Soundclash, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Invitro, Chester Benington, Julien K, Hed P.E., Boy Hits Car, Black Light Burns and many others. Comfort released their first highly anticipated album “Stories That Didn’t Hit the Page” independently in September of 2008 and will be releasing he album in Japan in December of 2008 through Triple Vision Entertainment. 2009 will be full of touring, hard work and dedication to take ourselves to the top!!

Three Months for the Rest of My Life

Written By: Comfort for Change

Three Months for the Rest of Your Life
Into-
Holy mother what have you done? Faceless and unloved.
Bless those arms made out of clay, this time I won’t play.
Verse1
Get up to the sound of broken seams; I can’t conceive that this dream would happen to me.
While I gaze outside the door.
From the start I was smart, so I thought I would breathe and not believe it.
She turned her back on me so I scream, that’s how I know.
Chorus-
Jesus Christ will let you know with all of his voices, voices.
This time I won’t shut the door; my child’s now hopeful, hopeful.
Verse 2-
I found when you turn it right upside down; the simple fact THAT this time there’s no turning back. As I fall right to the floor.
Please oh please let me be all the things that she needs.
The lord will givith the lord will takith away come today that’s it for sure.
Bridge-
Holy mother what have you done?
Giving me this gun?
Bless those arms made out of stone
What have I done?

Knife's Capade

Written By: Comfort for Change

Knife’s Capade
Verse1-
She tends to cut when she’s down
The situations lost control
There’s no stopping her
As she tries to escape
Chorus-
I’ve got this feeling
(of suicide)
I feel you leaving
(I’m left behind)
Verse 2-
Who takes the blame?
For the loss of life today?
Who’s thought to won the knife’s capade
Closing up the bag, there’s no coming back
Bridge-
Black suits all around as she lays in the ground
No one hears a sound yet

Start It Over

Written By: Comfort for Change

Start It Over
Verse 1-
Days go by and I’m still here
The bottom line is it’s unclear
Where I’ll go and what I’ll do
The choice still belongs to you
Chorus -
You don’t have to run, you just have to start it over, start over
The pain is just too strong, you just have to start it over, start it over
Verse 2-
I sit and watch the fan
Spin around as time still stands
Listen to my favorite song
Lifter tries to lift me up
Bridge-
7 words one weak, teenager nosebleed, birthmark savory
Engine no. 9 be quite and drive, cherry waves Sinatra
You will see it’s me falling down the path again
Complete with seeds sprouting the roots again

Comfort for Change

Breakthrough the sound

I casually walk towards the door, I picture fragments on the floor
I try to explain to us all what the meanings on the wall
I take a moment to look in; I feel my soul is running thin
I try to explain to myself that I never needed help
But I know it’s not too late to relapse to create
I see the pain that’s inside, well I’m feeling it out when all I need is to hide

Vacant as we stand it’s alright to pack up my bags tonight
This is all I have its all mine, comfort for change gets me by

My senses coming over me, I get a push from what’s beneath
Many mistakes from before, not a thing to be ignored
I feel I’m running out of time to make my mind up and be fine
But I know it’s all ok, I felt a smile yesterday
The sickness filling up my eyes, I don’t think I’ve heard these cries
I see the pain that’s inside, well I’m feeling it out when all I need is to hide

Vacant as we stand it’s alright to pack up my bags tonight
This is all I have its all mine, comfort for change gets me by

This is my sacrifice tonight; pull the wool from my eyes tonight
Surprised to go through life despite all of these lies

Vacant as we stand it’s alright to pack up my bags tonight
This is all I have its all mine, comfort for change gets me by

My Statement

Written By: Comfort for Change

My Statement

Truth, pride, pleasure, pain, no use sitting silent
Lies, loss, arrogance, gain, slit outside his throat

Deception from the ones he thought he knew best
Unaware that he now is all alone
They picked apart his life limb from limb
Reattach and move on

Make a statement loud and clear so all can hear
Maybe it is time to erase all your fear
One more thing just one more is get right to it
Show us who you are

Don’t try to play it off like we are friends now
There is no more peace and kindness
I see the time has passed between us
I have strength to move on

Make a statement loud and clear so all can hear
Maybe it is time to erase all your fear
One more thing just one more is get right to it
Show us who you are

No pain no gain your wrong I’m strong
You played a lie, when we were eye to eye
You’re all the same; it’s not a game

Make a statement loud and clear so all can hear
Maybe it is time to erase all your fear
One more thing just one more is get right to it
Show us who you are

Intoxication

Written By: Comfort for Change

Intoxication

You helped me realize, you helped me realize
Yeah listen to me; yeah get up get up get up
Yeah listen to me; yeah get up get up get up

I find myself in shades of grey; I have a drink to start the day
Cloudy thoughts and no remorse for what I’ve done

Yeah listen to me; yeah get up get up get up

Have you seen the worst of the world today?
I’ve become the world’s worst.

My body hurts with aches and pains, but what comes first is mental strain
Days go by without the taste, I want to die

Yeah listen to me; yeah get up get up get up

Have you seen the worst of the world today?
I’ve become the world’s worst.

This is no mistake, slit wrists from this place
This is life at stake, pray to my saving grace
