"Chain Reaction Rocks Strawberry Alley in the First Jammin’ in the Alley Concert of the Year"

By Bill Larson | May 22, 2011 |

Clarksville, TN – The Journey Tribute band Chain Reaction opened up the first Jammin’ in the Alley concert of the year on Friday night. The free concerts are held by the City of Clarksville’s Department of Parks and Recreation every third Friday from May to October at Strawberry Alley located in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

The weather for the concert was to put it mildly, absolutely perfect. I love early summer weather when it’s not too hot, or too cold. Perhaps that is one of the reasons that this Jammin’ in the Alley concert had the biggest attendance I have seen. It was wall to wall people with many dancing in front of the stage. The classic Journey songs were well known and people in the audience would sing right along with the band."

"Ryan Christopher the band’s lead singer was honored that his band was selected for the lead off concert of the season."

"Riverfest Preview - Chain Reaction: A Tribute to Journey"

Rob Selkow Reporting

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The Journey tribute band that will play at next month’s Riverfest bills itself as 'The Nation's Best Journey Tribute Band,' and after hearing them it’s tough to argue the point.

The band started on a dare by singer Ryan Christopher's wife who challenged him to sing a Journey song in a Karaoke contest. His vocal attack on "Don't Stop Believin'" not only won him the contest but also spawned the idea for a Journey tribute band which is now made up of Christopher on lead vocals, Mike Seay on Drums, Tommy Hall on bass, keyboardist Bonnie Lavender and guitarist Greg Vass who all contribute backing vocals. Hear Chain Reaction - A Tribute to Journey perform "Seperate Ways (Worlds Apart)".

"Journey has been coming back for about five years now and young people are really into them, so this is going to be a show that appeals to three generations of rock fans," said JT Daniels, morning personality on Eagle 94.3. "Close your eyes and listen...it's Journey." - Clarksville Now!

Bio

Chain Reaction - A Tribute to Journey began as a simple dare when lead singer, Ryan Christopher, was asked to sing a Journey song in a karaoke bar back in 2005. Much to his surprise, and to those in the club, he nailed 'Don't Stop Believing' and, for the first time in his life, had a standing ovation from singing karaoke.

Ryan Christopher decided to create a demo to shop around the Nashville area and recorded a handful of Journey tunes. His demo was picked up by some Clarksville, TN-based local musicians who confronted Ryan, auditioned him, and asked him to help them create a Journey tribute. Ryan had never been in a tribute and had to learn what it meant to replicate an artist.

Since the band's formation, in June 2006, they have been wowing audiences from small bars (approx. 25 people) to fairs and festivals with 22,000 in attendance. They are one of the few TRUE tributes in the country to one of the greatest classic rock bands in history, Journey! They continue to book shows in the fair and festival, casino, and corporate event markets and absolutely love what they do.

Take it from their fans and previous clients...

"...the best tribute band ever."

"...when I close my eyes I can't tell the difference."

"...I thought Journey was playing."

"...when I came around the corner, I was surprised to see that it wasn't a DJ playing Journey."

"...I thought it was the radio playing Journey."

Make no mistake, if you're looking for QUALITY... there's only ONE choice.
