With a bit of hardcore, metal and screamo, this Wilmington foursome is finally getting their groove together. After years of lineup change, image change and the completion of another demo, they are earning respect in the local band scene, and can truly say that they are making their presence known in Wilmington. Each member of the band draws their influence from different angles of the music spectrum. Bates draws from the hardcore icons of the past, while Hamilton invites more influence from metal and hard rock. Rusher is more comfortable with punk, and Meier seems to combine many different music types. Their lyrics, written by all four band members, are emotionally driven and are backed by the harsh reality of life............So I caught up with Chambered in their musician’s lair (2-bedroom second story walk-up), where they served up a feast of pizza and beer. In the midst of the merriment… I managed to get them to talk a bit about the band’s history; their “starving artist” mission to bring their music to millions; and what keeps them motivated day after day…more.... The vocals and guitars draw from the inspiration of touring bands like Metallica, Helmet, Slipknot, Tool, and the Deftones, while also paying homage to the tried and true principles expressed by legends such as Hendrix, Zeppelin, Lynrd Skynrd, Alice Cooper, and Black Sabbath. Chambered's rhythm section drives home this awesome combination with steady, punching drum patterns and airtight basslines that always leave the masses begging for more.
