"Life is a cab-aret"

When you hop into Ray St. Ray’s taxi, you might just think you’re getting a ride in a seemingly normal cab from some guy who strongly resembles Dwight from the television show The Office. But if you’re lucky, you’ll discover that you’re riding with “The Singing Cab Driver”—lucky, because he doesn’t sing for everyone.

Bio

Fronted by that "21st Century City and Eastern Son of the the Singing Cowboys" Ray St. Ray, The Singing Cabdriver, Chameleon World is a 9-piece outfit of misfits whose music could best be described as nothin' but the 'yellows' − bright, uplifting music for people who can still think and hear... or at least dance! Our collective vision is the music of an alternate past's perfect future. Music for NOW! And you're in this vision. Chameleon World's repertoire currently consists of 40 and counting all original compositions written and arranged by Ray and keyboard wizard Paul Henning. Paul likes to ride shotgun, has appointed himself band cook and scribbles down lots of black dots on paper. In the back seat, but frequently stealing some of center stage with their tight vocal harmonies and sexy theatrics are backup singers Kate Bergeron and Bethany Kinsler. On percussives, that cushy wishbone-suspension-of-disbelief drummer Joe Chellman: the tastefullest drummer we know. Electronics engineer, analogue keyboardist, noisemaster and emulations/dissimilations consultant Andrew Horton, brings a warm orange hue to the band where the "service engine soon" sign would otherwise be dark. Swingin', Retro-nebular rhythm guitarist Brian Riggins digs what needs digging and bridges genres few would ever dare. Big rubber tire bassman Chad Wheeler braves depths at the bottom of the frequency spectrum where the funkiness lives and thrives. And rounding out their Octadecapedal vehicle, the greenest of the chameleons, Seth Shapiro is Chameleon World's blazing new lead guitarist who also helps fix flats with sharps in the bass and guitar department. Together Chameleon World is more than a band... it's a world!
